I didn't know planning+ parenting= Maya's doom.

Apparently a rooftop is not the most adequate place to have a baby shower. Sure, the decor looked awesome and the weather was nice. But the fact that Evie would tug at things and dip her hands into any kind of food was messy and disgusting.

"Okay, hold." I picked up Evie holding her at a distance and passing her on to Lucas. She giggles and bounces, happy to see him as always. I like to think she has a little crush on Ranger Rick.

I began to wipe my daughter down, and then set her down in an empty cardboard box along with some toy keys. She chewed and tossed them around the box, murmuring random things like all babies did. Riley and I finished setting up the small white tables and chairs, Lucas and Zay helped bring up the pastries and soon we were done as far as decor. Topanga was in charge of setting up the food and all, and would be coming up after getting dressed. Farkle was with Shawn getting the drinks, and right now I was pacing around the area, adding finishing touches with one hand while holding up Evie on the other as she latched on to my breast. Don't worry, there was no one there but Riley.

"Do you think Smackle is going to keep the baby?" She placed lilac flowers into bases as she asked this. But it didn't sound like the meant keeping it keeping it, it was more like hinting towards abortion.

"She's crazy, but she's not cruel." I answered, handing her a new batch of the flowers with my free hand. "She loves her baby."

"Does Farkle love the baby too?" I almost asked her what did she mean, then I remembered that she thought Baby Smackle was Farkle's.

"Um, I guess we all do." I shrugged, giving the most honest answer I could muster. I hated to lie to my best friend, and my voice tends to crack in the end so she would know.

"Good, I wouldn't want for the baby to not be born." She sounded sincere, which of course it was, Riley would never be evil. She knew the baby was innocent.

In fact a baby is the only innocent thing around nowadays.

"What do you think?" Mom spinner in her beautiful light lavender dress. Her makeup was flawless and natural, and the flower crown I had gotten for her tied everything together. She had that glow to her, and she even smelled like warm vanilla too. I used to smell like that all the time.

"You look stunning." We turned to see Shawn leaning against the doorframe. He wore an all white button down and his hair was slicked back. It seemed like everyone was a different them today.
