December seventeenth.

Pulling the dark gray T-shirt over my head I release a heavy sigh.

"Will you stop sighing and groaning and put your boots on already." Cipher snaps at me from outside my closet. She insisted that we wake up early and do some sibling bonding.

I on the other hand have a shit ton of other important things I could be doing on this dreary Monday morning. For example, paper work or finding the disgusting vile man who put my mate in a coma.

Yesterday afternoon one of the many search parties I sent out found what seemed to be their makeshift pack house a few miles west of our territory. The lands and house was mostly empty except for one girl.

Siren.

My men found her locked away in a room with no windows, water or food. She hasn't spoken a word since we retrieved her and she currently resides in a cell. She won't be leaving anytime soon either. I filled her in on what happened and shockingly enough she seemed heartbroken over the fact her precious Jalex marked my mate.

No one has seen or heard from him. It is if as though he fell off of the face of the earth, never to return. I will find him and when I figure out how to remove his vile mark from my mates neck I will eat both him and Siren for dinner.

"Come on!" Cipher bangs on the closet door annoyingly. I roll my eyes and tie up my boots. How did I get stuck with such an annoying sibling? What type of siblings sets aside time to bond? We grew up together, I'm pretty sure we are already as close as can be.

Exiting the closet I push my fingers through my dark hair. "What are we doing again?" I look over to my sister who was already standing by the door, ready to leave. "I thought we could go on a run, get some exercise."

I adorn a light sweater since the snow continued to fall from the sky.

"Alright, fine. After our run I need to be back here to finish up some paper work." I say sternly as I walk past her out into the hall. She rolls her eyes playfully.

"You need to take some time off. Jalex is nowhere to be found and I haven't found any leads in old folklore on how to remove the mark. Taking one day to ourselves won't hurt."

"I can't believe theres is nothing in werewolf history that can help us." I shake my head disappointedly. "Maybe I should sit down with you and sort through the lore and history books together."

"If you want too, there is actually a lot of interesting stories."

The crisp cool wind of December greets us gently as I open the front door of my home. Everything seemed peaceful, too peaceful. The white blanket surrounded us, making us feel safe while it covers the horrors it once brought us. It is sort of ironic.
