Chapter 17 Just Knew

Matt's POV 

I was speeding down the back road to Ash's house with Danny in the passenger seat yelling for me to go faster, as if I could get this car to go any faster then it was already going. We both had this nagging feeling in our guts that something bad was going to happen. I slammed on the breaks causing Danny and I to go forwards and slam into the steering wheel and dashboard. I'm pretty sure I had a broken rib from the impact, but with my adrenaline pumping I couldn't feel the pain, and from the way Danny reacted to slamming his head, his adrenaline was pumping just as fast cause he was out of the car before I was. 

"Hurry up Matt!" Danny yelled at me running to the front door.

I got out of the car and ran to the front door faster then I thought I would. Danny was banging on the door and trying to open it but it was locked, and Ash obviously had no intention of opening it.

"ASH OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!!!" Danny screamed slamming both of his fists against the door.

"Move." I said in a deathly calm voice.

Danny listened and moved. I took a deep breath before kicking the door. At first it didn't budge but when I kicked it again it fell over. Danny and I stormed into the house calling out Ash's name. That's when something hit me and I ran to the kitchen. That's when I saw Ash opening the bottle of pills, she looked up at me before tilting her head back. It was all in slow motion for me, she tilted the bottle, but before the pills could fall into her mouth I ran over and smacked the bottle out of her hand. The bottle hit the ground and the pills went everywhere. 

"Ash..oh my God..Ash" I whispered pulling a sobbing Ash into my chest. 

Danny came running up and pulled Ash out of my arms and into his. I could tell he was crying by the way his body was shacking. His grip on her looked tight enough to hurt her, but Ash didn't seem to mind. I stood there quietly and with my arms crossed looking at the ground. I started to daydream about what would of happened until I heard a quite whimper right in front of me.

"Matt?" I heard Ash whisper. 

I looked up and saw her teary eyed face looking up at me. She looked so sad and lost, and it killed me to see her like this. I opened my arms and she immediately wrapped her skinny arms around me, sobbing into my chest. I kissed the crown of her head and let my lips stay there, as I wrapped my arms around her and held her tight.

I was laying down with Ashley in her bed. She was asleep right now and I was just watching her. I wasn't gonna let her out of my sight anymore, not after what I walked in on when she was in the kitchen. I don't know how I knew something bad was gonna happen I just knew. She had explained everything that had happened since the day at the hospital. I didn't hate Desean for what he did, cause to be honest I would have done the same thing. 

"Matt why are you staring at my face?" I heard Ash ask.

"Oh um I.....I...." I was cut off by Ash.

"It's okay, I was just joking with you." She said with a smile. 

I just pretended to glare at her. She giggled but then rolled over. I wrapped an arm around her. After a few moments I heard her soft snores and knew that she was asleep. I laid there just staring at the wall, until I felt like there was someone other then Ash in the room with me. I turned and almost screamed, but stopped myself. 

"I just need to tell you a few things." Desean said or what I thought was Desean.

I looked at Desean's figure. It was like he was completely fine, there were no bullet holes in his chest and he looked healthy. The only thing that was different was that you can kind of see through him. 

"I don't have much time so I will just tell you what I need to, so please no questions." He started then continued. "First tell Ash that I'm okay and that I'm watching over her, second please treat her better then I did, third tell her that I love her, and lastly don't mess it up with her she really likes you, in fact she loves you and if you hurt her I will come back and hurt you." He finished and started to fade.

"Okay but..." I started but he cut me off.

"Don't say anything just find a way to tell Ash what I said it doesn't have to be now, it can be in a couple months or even a year, but please just tell her." He said then was gone. 

I looked around but Desean was no where to be seen. I let out a troubled sigh before laying back down. I don't know how but I would find a way to tell Ash. I felt my eye lids getting heavier and heavier. The last thing I saw before dozing off was Desean's ghost, I guess you can say, lean over the other side of the bed and kiss Ash's forehead before disappearing again. 

Okay so I know this chapter is really short sorry. Also this book is almost done, I might wright a sequel I'm not sure yet. Anyways the next chapter is gonna be set a few months after what just happened in this chapter. There will be something saying that I just wanted to forewarn you guys.
