Jimin's POV
The next day, security, teachers and even the principal gathered to talk about the mysterious hole in the corner of the brick wall. One of the guards came across it as he was taking his final rounds around the boys side.
There are traces that show that it wasn't just loose bricks -which isn't even possible- but someone had removed them. Traces like some of the bricks her neatly stacked on the side which is next to impossible if it were an accident.
Even though I know who the culprit is, I don't know if I'm involved or not since the girl had talked to me. But even if I wasn't, I would still get in trouble for skipping class.
Bio is just way to boring and all the teacher does is show us videos or talk about his own personal life which some kids love since they don't have to learn, but I find it annoying.
I can't help but wonder, that girl who was climbing trees and making holes in the wall, did she want to get caught? Because no one would be dumb enough to just leave the hole there without filling it back in. Not to mention, she could have let boys enter the girls side from there.
Or she just didn't care.
Now it's Friday, and I'm back at the library for another relaxing book reading session.
I sit down on a round, vacant table and start reading the book I picked up from one of the shelves. A smile managed to creep on my face as I read the mighty, strong, and passionate climax of the story.
"I borrowed this book last Friday, I'v come to return it."
My ears perk up as a reaction to the familiar voice. I peel my eyes off the book in my hands and glance at the library counter, where the old lady -the librarian- stood behind as she received a book from a girl wearing a blue and green flannel shirt and jeans with sneakers.
I shuffled in my seat and leaned as forward as I could to get at least a glimpse of the girls face in case it's the girl from that day.
What? I'm curious.
As soon as the librarian nods to her before saying a few words I couldn't hear due to the distance, she turned around. I immediately recognized her.
Hey! It is her!
She turned her head towards me, her cold, sharp stare boring into my skull -even through her glasses- as I flick my head back to my book, starting to sweat out of nervousness since it seemed like she could stab be with just her eyes.
But I thought I was too far from her to notice me.
Did she sense me around or something?
The girl clicked her tongue before merely walking out the door with no words. I blinked a few times. Shrugging, I turn my attention back to the book.
"Oh?" I heard the librarian say, staring at a yellow card in her hands before gasping lowly.
"Is there something wrong?" I asked and walked to the counter as I was done with the book. She shook her head.
"It's just that the girl forgot her library coupon, she left it inside her book." The librarian stared at the coupon and shook her head. "It's nothing, dear. She'll come back for it."
"I can give it to her, she probably hasn't gone far." I smiled. "I know her actually...well kinda." I scratched my cheek.
"Are you sure, dear?"
"Of course!" Shushes were heard from almost every corner of the room and I nervously apologized and lowered my voice before grabbing the coupon. "I'll be right back."
I quickly ran outside and descended the stairs, flicking my head left and right, trying to spot her.
There she is, I knew she didn't go far!
I start sprinting towards her, pushing and bumping into a few strangers in the process but trying to keep my eyes on her.
Did she just start walking faster? I swear she can sense when people come near her.
She walked infront of a tall man, completely hiding herself. I click my tongue, not being able to see her any longer.
Where'd she go? Man, now how will give her coupon back? She'll probably come back to take it anyway.
I pause, looking around, not being able to see the girl anymore. I look at the coupon in my hand. Ko Dahae was written on the top. She'll come back for it, right? Probably will since she can't borrow books without it and would have to buy a new one.
A strong, howling gust of wind hit my face, blowing my hair to side. I close my eyes shut to prevent dust from entering it.
But just when I open my eyes, I realize...the coupon was gone.
"No!" The yellow paper flew above the crowds heads as my eyes enlarged. Panicked, I push through the strangers, hopping on my feet and extending my arms, trying to catch the piece of paper.
The wind weakened and the coupon landed safely on the concrete floor beside a narrow alley between two buildings. I run as fast as I could and grab the coupon in my hands from the ground.
I look up to see the one person I didn't expect to see, her back planted against the brick wall and her face looking away from my own as if she was hiding from someone.
Or me.
I smiled at her hesitantly "oh hi."
