The war just ended, the gang and myself are in Ba Sing Se, at the Jade Dragon Tea shop. Iroh is happy he got it back, I'm happy that Zuko is finally happy. Also, Katara has told me she loved me, I'm happy, maybe I can get a happy ending.

It's night time, and I feel someone walking, I use seismic sight to find its Katara.
"Weird, where's she going?" I leave Appa at the tea shop and Mommo follows me. I make sure I have my Buson whistle with me, just in case. I follow Katara till she gets to a tree, but there is Zuko. I watch horrorstruck as they then kiss, I feel my heart shatter. Thee is the girl I love more than anything, kissing the person I thought was a friend. I step out of the shadows, and I can tell I'm flickering between the Avatar state and regular avatar.
"How could you! I thought you cared for me!" Katara turns around and her eyes are wide with shock, Zuko lies down, but I could care less.
"Aang, it's not like that." I cut her off, tears are streaming down my face, but I still love Katara, why?
"Then What was it Katara? Huh? Tell me, no, you know what, I'm done! I'm leaving, I never wanted to be the Avatar, just when I thought my troubles whew over you go and betray my trust! Goodbye Katara, I hope you are happy in the future!" I turn around and sprinting away. I hear Katatra screaming my name, but I have to get away. I still love her, but she just broke my heart. I get back to the tea shop a few seconds later, I quickly write a message for Sokka, then I call Appa and then we leave.
The monks always spoke of a fabled Eastern Air Temple. They said that Monks who needed sanctuary or time away would go there to get answers and peace they where looking for. I just hope that it's a real place, I will still help the world, I owe Roku that much, but I'm not going to the Water Tribe anytime soon. My heart needs to be repaired before I do that, or I need to be able to forgive Katara.

We fly for a day, then I see something. A little shrine, it has a statue of Giyatso. But then I notice something, footprints in the dirt. I follow them to a cave in the mountain, it's deep, i seismic see into it and gasp. There are air benders in there, and Air Bison and lemur bats, all frozen, but there are also three other benders down there. I cautiously make my way down, I realize that I'm still in my formal monk robes. Dang it, if these are enemies the Avatar will make a big target, and I left my glider in Ba Sing Se.
When I get to the main cavern, I want to cry. I see thousands of Airbender's all meditating in ice. There are Monks and children, women men and children. Then there are hundreds of thousands of air bison, and lemurs, and artifacts all frozen. I drop to my knees and have tears of joy running down my face, but then I sense people behind m. I quickly stand up and get into a defensive position, I won't let anyone hurt my people. But when I turn around, they stare at me then bow. I turn my head in confusion, before me are three people. Two males and one female, the female is from the water tribe, her hair gives it away. Then one of the men is earthbender, his stance gives that away. The third person, he is firenation, he is wearing firenation garbs under his blue and white outfit.
"Who are you and why are you he's?!?"
"Avatar Aang, it is an honor to meet you. We are members of the Order of the White Lotus, we have been tasked in the guarding and protection of your people."
"How can I believe you?"
"We have been guarding them for quite some time, waiting for the time when they could come back into the world. They all survived the destruction of the temples, they all came here seeking refuge in your fabled Eastern Air Temple. But only found a shrine to your mentor Monk Giyatso, they found a member of the Order and begged them to hide them. This member then decided to get two more colleagues, one earthbender and one firebender. Then together they froze your people and the Bison ad other stuff, they disappeared from the Order and stood guard here till they found themselves too old to do it, then right before they died, they entrusted the task to others. Still one water bender one firebender and one earthbender, this cycle has continued for the past century. We whee Chosen two years ago, and have been waiting for the right time to come. When we can awaken your people." I stare at them in shock, none of my people made it out of the temples, we checked.
"You lie, no one made it out of the temples when the firenation artacked them! I checked all the temples, only skeletons remained!"
"Please Avatar Aang, dont kill us, check their clothes, you can clearly see scorched fabrick and ash on them. Some didn't get any, whereas others got lots." I look closely and find what they say true. I'm shocked, these people where some of the monks I once knew.
"Free them, let them come back to the world. I just ended the war, and my people need to start to rebuild our civilization. I will believe you if you do this." They nod, then next thing I know, the room is full of steam, when it clears, the monks and everyone is waking up. I start to cry, they're alive, I'm not alone. This time thee really are Airbenders.
"What? How long where we frozen?" I look and find a elderly monk, he was a part of the council from the Southern Air Temple, my home.
"One hundred years honored Monk. You all are safe, Avatar Aang has ended the war. He said you all are safe to come out of ice." All the monks, children, and airbenders look shocked at their words.
"Lies, Avatar Aang died before the firenation attacked our temples." They really are from my time, I sigh then step into the light.
"No, I ran away and was frozen in an iceberg for one hundred years. It's been a year since I awoke, I didn't die." All heads snap to me, the elder monks suck in their breath, the children I once new are shocked.
"Aang? How?" I sigh.
"I'll tell you all later, I promise. But right now, we are going to build the Eastern Air Temple. We will start to rebuild our culture and our way of life here, the other temples are in ruins. I don't want any stragglers of those who do bad to wipe us out, so we will start to rebuild our culture in secret. Once we are at a standing number of our people, then we will come out of hiding. The world needs airbenders, but airbenders need to be separated from the other nations, our people are too good natured to be revealed to the scared world right now. We will help others in need, but in secret." The other airbenders nod, I'm surprised that they are listening to me.
"Avatar Aang, How will we build the temple?"
"I will use earthbending and holo our these mountains. We will be living in plain sight, but I think we should separate off the main continent. Like how Avatar Kioshi created Kioshi island for her people to be free, I will do the same for us, so we can live unseen." Everyone nods, and I help direct them up out of the cave, we left the bison frozen, they will be unfrozen later. When we get above ground I told them to wait for me there by the shrine, I went to the valley area to find a suitable area to separate the mountains st. But I feel a lot of people approaching, I ignore it though, I have other things to focus on.
"Aang?" I spin around and find Chief Hacota, great.
"Aang what are you doing here? I thought you where in Ba Sing Se with the others?"
"I was, but then I got my heart shattered. So I came to seek solitude at the Eastern Air Temple. What's it to you?"
"My son just sent me a messenger hawk stating you ran away, and that Katara is crying because of your choice." I start to glow, I'm entertaining the Avatar state.
"Don't talk about her to me! She lied to me, and betrayed my trust! I need to get away from her because she hurt me but I still love her! I need to get over my feelings, I can't just act ok, I ran away so that I wouldn't have to deal with all the lies!" I feel a hand on my shoulder, the watertribe members are gasping, I turn my head to see airbenders standing next to me. I calm down and they stand protectively in front of me.
"Leave our Grand Monk out of this!"
"Airbenders?"
"I thought Aang was the last.?" I stand up, then get in front of my people, I whisper to them.
"Go tell the others to brace themselves." They nod and take off, I will know when they are ready for the white lotus members will bend their elements into the air.
"Aang, what are airbenders doing here?"
"Chief Hacota, you will not tell anyone of what you saw. You won't go looking for me, and you most certainly won't tell the world that my people survived. I may be the Avatar, but I also know where to go to disappear." Then I see the elements go up into the air, the warriors are shocked, but then I back up, I'm not going to kill anyone.
"Leave now, or you might die." Then I go into the Avatar state. Once I'm in it, I earthbend a crevasse to my left, then my right, I jump up then punch the ground. It separates and makes a canyon with lava at the bottom. I stand up and thrust my hands up, the lava rises and pushes our part away from the mainland. The watertribe warriors are terrified now, and Hacota is staring at me in shock. Then I do a spin and release air, the air propels our now island away from the mainland. I don't stop till I know we are right at the edge of any map, our island could now be drawn on either side of the end. We are on the opposite side of the world, away from any one wanting to do us harm. I don't exit Avatar state just yet, I earthbend some earth to rise, and make our island a bit bigger. I have sand come and I make beaches, then I soften the earth to make fertile dirt. I then use my spiritual power and help plants grow, within seconds we have trees grass, flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other plants growing in abundance on our island. After I do that, I exit the Avatar state and collapse on my knees. Everyone rushes to me shocked at what I just did.
"Avatar Aang, I've never seen anything like that before." I'm panting, and sweating. That took a lot out of me. Especially since I also had the plants grow that we had at our temples over a century ago.
"Well, I'm full of surprises." I smile then stand up.
"I will start creating the temple tomorrow, for now, I want to hear how you all survived. I've felt so guilty ever since I woke up from that iceberg, I failed you all. I want to do better, I want to be there for you all in the future." Everyone just smiles then they use air and bend me up, they all cheer for me.
"High Monk Aang, all bow for High Monk Aang." They now and I'm lowered, I'm shocked to the core. They made me the night monk, me? I'm so surprised that I didn't notice my once best friend approach me.
"Aang?" I'm snapped out of my shock, then I notice a girl standing in front of me. She has her Arrow tattoos, her hair is to her waist, she has grey eyes like me, and she has a medallion around her neck. It takes me a little to figure out who she is, then it hits me like Appa burping.
"Alaina?" (Pronounced: Aai-laai-na.)
"Yep, I thought you died! Word speed and I hear of it at the Western Air Temple. Do you know how sad I was to hear that?!?"
"I'm sorry, I overheard the monks wanted to separate me from Giyatso. I ran away, but I didn't die. How did you survive?"
"Well, when the firenation attacked our temple, me and a lot of the other kids gatherd a bunch of bison and artifacts, along with some adult monks. We then flew down and hid in the clouds or fog beneath the temple. We waited there for hours, once the sounds of battle disappeared, we flew in the cloud cover and then headed here. We where the only ones to escape the Western temple though. We ran into the other survivors on our hunt for the fabled Eastern Temple, thousands of airbenders survived from the other temples, we had the highest losses from ours. When we got here, we found nothing. We made the shrine to Giyatso so if you did survive and came looking for us, you could find where we where hidden." I nod then I smile, we spent hours catching up, it was well past dark before we all decided to sleep. I am happy, for the first time in so long, I'm happy and I'm not alone.

The next morning, I start my work on the temple. The Monks insisted that I built a temple in the area between the two mountains and that I have my room there, I obeyed them, so I started by building hallways out of the stone that connect to the area. The monks are building the temple and my room, they are letting me make the structures inside the mountain before they go and add Airbenders stuff into it. I made areas for the bison at the base of each mountain, I created beautiful shrines and statues of our past monks. At the top of each mountain I made temples where we could see the water as we meditate. We also made a Air ball area so the younger kids can play, we created a courtyard in front of the building and it went all the way to  Giyatso's statue shrine thing. This took us a month to do, but the end results whee worth it. Our new temple is just as grand and beautiful on the inside as our temples used to be, and we have everything else one airbender could want. I smile at our work, we created a area where guests could stay. If there where anybody in need that stumbled to our island, they would have a safe refuge, till they left. We woke up the bison and they love the stables area, I made sure it was identical to the ones in the old temples.
Alaina approached me with two monks following her, I recognized them as past council members.
"Avatar Aang, Alaina, we have to tell you both something." I stare at Alaina, she dose the same to me, we are both confused and curious as to what they want to say.
"Aang, when you where born, your mother also had another child. She didn't get Rava inside of her, however she was granted the ability to enter the spirit world. You have a twin sister Aang and she is younger than you. Your twin sister is Alaina, she is your twin sister." I stare at them in shock, Alaina is doing the same.
"So, Wait, those things I saw while frozen was me in the spirit world or me as a spirit in this world?!?"
"Yes, and because of your ability, the monks have appointed you High Spiritual Monk." I'm still shocked, I have a twin sister and she can enter the spirit world?!?
"Wait, so, you kept this a secret from us, why?"
"Because of you being the Avatar, we didn't want this to distract you from your learning, and for both of yours safety." I nod, I'm more mature now than I was a year ago. I was told my Iroh that I act like an adult now, I don't act so childish.
"Well, at least you told us. I don't think I agree as to why you kept the secret, but I appreciate you telling me. Please don't keep secrets from me in the future, they lead one down a path that you can't always return from." They all nod then the monks walk off. I just stand there with my apparent twin sister.
"Aang, this explains a lot about us." I sigh.
"I know, now I know why we got along so well." She nods, when we still lived in the same temple, we did everything together, we like the same stuff, and we ate the same food. We both sigh then head into the temple, time for some much needed sleep.
