The original scene brings me to tears every time I watch it, so I hope I do this one-shot justice!

Courtney's POV
We all managed to expose Ernesto for the type of person he really was, but before we had time to celebrate, Hector was beginning to fade away. "Hector!" We all yelled out in unison, before we ran up to Hector. Now we were extremely worried on how much time we had left.

"The photo, I-I lost it.." Miguel told Hector, on the verge of tears. "It's okay, mijo.. It's-" Hector tries to reassure Miguel before his body convulses again, this time his body hitting the floor, unable to get up. "Hector!" Miguel yells out, instinctively going over to him, us not too far behind him. The rest of us were on the verge of tears like Miguel, not saying anything, afraid we'd cry even harder. "Hector?" Miguel asks him worryingly. "Coco.." Hector whispers out. "No!" Miguel yells out, not ready to give up just yet. "W-we still have time!" Faith says, with a hint of sadness in her voice. "Y-yea, we can still find the photo!" Bella responds, also with a hint of sadness in her voice, but they both have a little hope for being able to save Hector before its too late. I place my hands on their shoulders, trying to reassure them as best I can. "It's almost sunrise!" Imelda tells us, sounding as upset as we all did. "No, no, no! We can't leave you!" Miguel answers, desperation clear in his voice "We promised we'd put your photo up!" Faith, Bella and I say in unison, desperation also clear in our voices. Hector puts a hand on Miguel's cheek and gives all of us a reassuring, yet sad smile to try to calm us down, that it was okay. "We promised you'd see Coco!" Miguel cries out, desperate to help his Papa Hector.
"We're out of time, mijo.." Hector responds weakly, his body convulsing again. "No! She can't forget you!" I yell out, as desperate as Miguel was.
"I just wanted her to know... that I loved her." Hector replies, sounding weaker now, pulling out his petal.
"Hector!" (All of us)
"You have our blessing.." (Hector)
"No conditions.." (Imelda)
"No, Papa Hector! Please!" (Miguel)
At this point, we were all in tears, scared Hector would be forgotten and we'd never see him again.
"No!" (Miguel)
"Go home.." (Hector)
"I promise we won't let Coco forget you!" (Miguel)

Next thing we knew we were back in The Land Of The Living, in Santa Cecelia. We all knew what we had to do. We all ran back to Miguel's house, when we were confronted my Miguel's abuelita. We all managed to get passed her to get to Coco.

"Mama Coco? Can you hear me? It's Miguel. I-I saw your Papa! My friends and I did! Remember? Papa?" Miguel tells his Mama Coco, trying to jog her memory. Faith hands Miguel the guitar, to which he holds it up for Mama Coco to see. "This was his guitar, right? He use to play it to you?" He then sets it down to pull out the photo of Coco, Imelda, and Hector. "See? There he is!" He tells her, holding up the photo for her to see. It doesn't seem to be jogging her memory at all, which cause us to start to lose hope and even start crying alittle. Before we could do anything else, Miguel's abuelita unlocks the door and walks in with the rest of Miguel's family. "What are you doing to that poor woman?!" She asks us, sounding very disappointed. "What's gotten into you?" Miguel's Papa asks Miguel, which causes Miguel to start crying and hug him. "I'm sorry, Papa.." Miguel mumbles. "We're all together- That's all that matters." Miguel's Mama tells him, trying to comfort him. "Not all of us.." Miguel mumbles under his breathe. The rest of us also try to comfort Miguel, fighting back our own tears. His abuelita now wants us to apologize to Mama Coco, so we all begin to walk over to her. "Mama Coco.." Miguel begins, the first one over next to her. Miguel then looks down at Hector's guitar. Next thing we knew, we were all sitting next to or around Miguel and Coco. "Y-your Papa wanted you to have this.." Miguel tells his Mama Coco, beginning to play the guitar. His abuelita was going to stop him, til his Papa stopped her. "Mama! Wait."
Miguel starts off the song,

Remember me
Though I have to say goodbye

One by one, the rest of us joined in, hoping this would help jog her memory.

Don't let it make you cry
For even if I'm far away
I hold you in my heart

It seems as though she's starting to remember, so we all kept going.

I sing a secret song to you each night we are apart

Now, she was even singing along. She remembers!

Each time you hear a sad guitar
Know that I'm with you the only way that I can be
Until you're in my arms again
Remember me

Seeing the smile on Mama Coco's face brought Abuelita to tears, causing Mama Coco to look over to her and ask, "Elena? What's wrong, mija?" To which Abuelita responds with, "Nothing, Mama. Nothing at all."

Mama Coco then turns to looks at us. "My Papa used to sing me that song." She tells us, smile still on her face. Now it was our turn to cry, again. "He loved you, Mama Coco." Miguel tells her through his tears. "Your Papa.." Bella starts off, slightly sniffling. "He loved you so much." Faith finishes, wiping her tears away. Mama Coco smiles at this, placing her hand on Miguel's cheek, same as how Hector did, bringing Miguel to cry even more, still smiling through his tears. She then turns to open one of the drawers on her dresser. This causes us to look at each other before looking over at said drawer. Mama Coco pulls out what looks to be a journal. "I kept his letters. Poems he wrote me. And..." She tells us, then hands Miguel a torn picture with Hector, the one that was torn of the original picture. This causes us to cry tears of joy even more.
