Sasuke sighs as he paces his cell. He runs his hand through his hair and sighs once more. When he woke up this morning he had no idea how much he would regret telling Sakura he wanted her to come back like he did today. His nerves were bad. He was on edge. He was nervous. Anxious even. There was so many emotions swarming around the pits of his stomach he couldn't pin point exactly how he feels at the moment.
He heard footsteps and he quickly froze. Turning his head in the direction he gave a sigh of relief seeing that it was just an officer doing their rounds. He gazed back at the Uchiha, before adverting his gaze elsewhere. Sasuke resumed his pacing.
What would I tell her? He wonders to himself. Will she think I'm an idiot?
So many thoughts ran around in the raven's head he couldn't really think of a positive outcome of all this."So what are you gonna tell her?"
Sasuke jumped at the sound of Naruto's voice. He was so wrapped up in his own world he never even noticed the blonde's presence.
"I'm sorry." Naruto frowned stuffing his hands in his pockets. "I didn't mean to scare you."
"What are you doing here?" The raven frowned deeply before gathering himself together. He blinked hard before fluttering his eyes open and focusing on his best friend.
"I came to wish you luck!" Naruto smiles. "You and Sakura—alone." The blonde's smile turned into a smug smirk. "Without me here. Who knows what you might say to piss her off. She can break these bars ya'know." Naruto's face turned into a facetious expression as he jokingly pointed at the cell bars. "You saw the damage she does."
Sasuke's face became red. "I'm not gonna say anything to upset her."
"Yeah, okay." Naruto's eyes widened in sarcasm as he spoke. He looked away. "Sasuke, I can't express enough how bad I don't want you to hurt her but I know she's what you need."
"Naruto I don't need you being that protective brother right now, alright?" Sasuke looked over at his friend. "Hurting Sakura purposely isn't my intentions. You and I both know how I feel about her."
"Yeah well, and we both know what you did to her too." Naruto shrugged casually. Sasuke furrowed his eyebrows wondering when did Naruto become this asshole all of a sudden. Naruto looked back at him then his eyes softened. "S-Sorry." He says quietly before looking away.
"Hn." Sasuke says just as quietly. He glides his hand behind his neck and heaves a sigh. "I fucked up alot, didn't I?"
"Tch, yeah." Naruto breathes out. "I'm surprised she doesn't hate you. You don't think people would've came after you if you killed her?"
"I-I wasn't—"
"Chill out, I know." Naruto nods. "But what if, ya'know? You don't know your own strength and you actually did kill her—then what? Would it have been worth it? Would it have been worth it for me? Kakashi? Your brother."
"Don't you dare bring Itachi into this!"
"Yeah well, you killed him and look where you're at now." Naruto challenged. Before he knew it, Sasuke had reached through the bars and snatched Naruto by his collar, pulling him towards the cell.
"I will risk getting killed just to kick your ass right now."
"You lost an arm trying to do that." Naruto slaps Sasuke's hand down. "Do you wanna lose another?"
The two stared at eachother intensely.
"Do you still love her, Naruto?" Sasuke asked narrowing his eyes. "Is that why you're acting like this towards me?"
