Sasuke had gotten used to his daily routine in the confinement. He relied on his other senses; like hearing and smelling to determine who came to visit him. The guards walked evenly, as if they counted the steps in their head. Their keys would jingle against their hips. They'd be mumbling about something Sasuke couldn't always make out. They'd clink against his cell and snicker when they would see his ear twitch. The fresh aroma of food hitting the young Uchiha's nostrils causing his stomach to respond by growling. They'd feed him, and then they'd leave him to his own thoughts once more.
What felt like a day but was only hours later, Sasuke would hear dragging feet at a quick pace. He knew it had to be Naruto. He'd never pick his feet up. The sound always annoyed the Uchiha. It's part of the reason why they always fought on missions. Naruto never picked his feet up. The smell of ramen and sweat filling his nose. Yeah, it was Naruto.
"Sasuke!" The blonde boy breathed as he reached the raven's cell. He frowned seeing his best friend still in the same position. "Dude are you ever gonna lay down or stand up or something?"
Sasuke grunts. "Idiot, why would I do that in a straight jacket?"
"Just tired of you sitting there all mopey and stuff." Naruto stuck his hands in his pockets. "Doesn't seem fair considering the fact you don't have your arm; why didn't you want it again?"
"I just don't want a fake arm, Naruto." Sasuke breathes out. Although he was slightly annoyed by the blonde, he appreciated when he'd come and visit him. Often times Naruto would sit against the mud wall and ramble on about the life that's passing Sasuke by as he sat in a Cell for the next Two and a half years. It's been six months so far, and he's haven't even seen nor heard anything from Sakura since the day he told her to mind her business. He assumed she'd just keep doing whatever she wanted and came to see him anyway, but she didn't. It made Sasuke feel dumb.
"Hinata's been looking really cute lately." Naruto says as he breaks a leaf into tiny pieces. His face slightly flushed red. "I-I could barely say 'hi' to her this morning. Such an idiot."
"What happend to your crush on Sakura?" Sasuke asked. He listened for the scoff he knew Naruto would do.
Expectedly, the blonde scoffed. "She's in love with you, dude." Naruto says with a soft smile. "I knew I wasn't gonna win that before you even left the village."
Sasuke's eyebrows drew together as he found himself trying to hide the pink tint on his face. "She was so annoying back then."
"She loved you though." Naruto chuckles. "She was by your side the entire time you were in a coma and not a single one of the other girls in our class ever did. If that isn't love then I don't know what is."
Sasuke chewed on his bottom lip. "So, Hinata huh?"
Naruto blushed. "Y-Yeah."
"Yeah, she's cute." Sasuke smirked. He frowned shortly after realizing that he couldn't see the blonde's facial expression but he knew it'd be one to laugh at. "Real pure. You might corrupt her and turn her into an idiot like yourself."
"I hate you, jackass." Naruto scoffed. Sasuke chuckled.
"You should ask her to eat." Sasuke suggests.
"Wouldn't that be a date?" Naruto cocked an eyebrow as he looked over at his friend. He hated how he had to talk to Sasuke through a cell and he helped saved the entire world. Naruto couldn't have done it all by himself. Kakashi told him the least of his time he could've only done is three years. He would've been in the jail for the rest of his life, but with Kakashi as his voucher, he got his sentenced reduced to just three years of his life. Sasuke would forever be great full for that.
