Sasuke smirked when he woke and his eyes landed on a sleeping Sakura. He knew it was out of his character, but he didn't care. He leaned in and placed his lips on her forehead. The past few days has probably the happiest he'd ever been. He couldn't stop the smile from forming on his face.As much as he didn't want to, Sasuke broke the kiss. He and Sakura stared at one another. Pressing his forehead against he let out the breath that he'd been holding for so long, causing Sakura to do the same. The both of them smiled at one another, content with what just happened.
"Is this really happening?" Sakura found herself asking.
"Hn, well I'll take it back." Sasuke tried to move away but Sakura wasn't letting him, which made him smile.
"That's what I thought." He whispers before placing his lips on her once again. Sakura smiled, becoming happier as their lips went in sync with one another.
Sasuke placed his lips on her forehead. Sakura couldn't stop herself from blushing. She hugged Sasuke tighter, running her fingers through his hair.
"I love you, Sakura." He whispers into her skin. Hearing those words made her heart jump. She couldn't believe that this was really happening.
"I love you too, Sasuke." She says as she feels the tears welling up in her eyes. Sasuke heard her voice cracking and he turned his head up to look at her.
"Why are you crying?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Sakura stepped away from him, wiping her eyes. Sasuke grabbed her wrist, stopping her, before he began wiping them himself. His eyebrows furrowed in worry, wondering if he did something wrong.
"I'm just so happy." She says through her tears. She looks up at Sasuke with a loving smile that made him smile too; something Sakura loved to see.
"Good."
Sakura shifted in her sleep feeling Sasuke's lips on her forehead. Her eyes fluttered open, landing on the raven.
"Goodmorning." She says as she smiles.
"Goodmorning." He replies with the same warm smile. "I was thinking."
"Woah, you think?" Sakura teased gaining a frown from him.
"I was thinking." He says again dismissing her. "What do you think about going back home?"
Sakura shot up, her hair flying in her face. She quickly moved her hair out her face and stared at Sasuke. "What?"
"What do you think about going home?" He asked her the question again, knowing she was excited about what he'd just asked her.
"As in, the leaf village?" Sakura blinked, her breatching heavy. Sasuke nodded. The pink haired girl could not contain her excitement as she bit down on her lip.
"Yeah!" She says happily. "I'd love to go home!"
Sasuke sat up. "Well, what are we waiting for?" He says as he gets up. Sakura quickly followed. The both of them gathered their things, ate and began getting ready to finally go home. Sasuke was happy, after just a few days prior, he'd sent a letter to Kakashi asking if he and Sakura could return. They weren't finding anything unusual and they were ready to return home. Kakashi greatly approved of them coming home.
"Ready?" Sasuke looked over at the pinkette who was tying her hair into a knot at the top of her head. She looked at him and smiled.
"Of course," She says. "Let's go home."
Sasuke focused his chakra and within moments a gust of wind occured into one focal point, opening a portal. He looked over at Sakura as she slipped her hand in his and together they stepped through the portal.
