y/n King, ordinary 10 year old you might think, blonde hair, blue eyes, normal right? Yes, I was until the disease spread. It first started with betty lou, the first in our class. Then Eric Sandds, soon almost all the kids were gone, I was a survivor, and that made me dangerous. I was with my parents on the night of my birthday.
"Here y/n, happy birthday!" My father said holding out a box to me. I eagerly tore into the wrapping paper. I stared in awe at my gift.
A phone
A brand new, iphone 6s was in the box.
"Really?!" I asked excitedly. My dad nodded. I hugged him and my mom so tight, not knowing what would happen at midnight.
I went to sleep in my very comfortable unicorn bed, but i woke up with a feeling, so i went to mom and dads room. I layed down in their bed.
"I promise mommy, nothing can keep us apart." I said as I touched her hand and gasped, I felt something, I don't know what but something. I ran to my room.
The next morning something happened. I walked into the kitchen.
"My head hurts." I said to my mother, she stared at me in confusion.
"How did you get here?"
I did a double take, what does she mean? I live here.
"Mommy, I live here." I told her.
"I'm not your mother." Were the words that broke me. "Here come with me." She said leading me into the garage.
"Stay here." She kept telling me as I was screaming. "NO! I'M YOUR DAUGHTER." Over and over again.
I eventually gave up and sat on the ground, soon the garage door opened and strange men came and grabbed me, the next thing I knew I was in a completely different location.
I woke up in a bed. A doctor hovering above me. "Hello, what is your name?" I just stared at him.
"Honey what's your name?"
"M-my name's y/n. Y/n King." I told the mystery man. He wrote some stuff down. "So y/n when you were picked up, did they give you a number?" He asked. I shook my head.
"There are colors, to what powers you have, green, is safe, smart, blue, telekinesis, gold, electricity, and the more dangerous, red, which we don't have to talk about and... orange, but you'll be fine." He said as a machine scanned me. He looked in horror at what the screen said.
Orange
He looked at me and said, "Don't worry we'll fix you." I jumped from my bed and ran to the door. He chased after me with a scringe. I grabbed his wrist and felt myself talking to him. "I'm a green." I told him.
"Your a green." He repeated, I let his wrist go and he stumbled over to the computer and changed it.
Green
*Six years later*
I worked on lacing the shoes that I had to, every. single. day. When one of the officers came up to me. "Look at me." He said, I kept my face straight forward, we weren't permitted to look at them.
"LOOK AT ME."
I took a shaky breath, brought up my courage and said, "We aren't allowed to look at you." He huffed at me and said. "The aglets should go over not under." He told me, when the girl next to me spoke up.
"Actually, it's under if you want a firmer grip." She said.
"Is that so?" He asked.
"Yes, but I guess the shoes fumes got to your head to make you stupid." The officer looked at her then grabbed her by her hair, and I never saw her again. When we were done we walked outside and I fell to the ground when I heard a white noise.
Again I woke in a bed, a woman hovering above me, "Hello dear." Was what she said. I sat up. My hands were cuffed to the bed. "Don't worry you'll be ok." She said. It wasn't the first time I was told that.
"It's time to go." A officer said.
"She has to stay overnight I need to run some more tests." The woman said leaving a paper on my bed. I looked at it, under was a note and a key.
If you want to get out of here meet me in the boiler room ~ a friend
I unlocked the cuffs and headed for the boiler room, the woman was there, she threw some clothes at me and said, "put these on quickly and cover your face, I'm kate, by the way." She said. I quickly put on the clothes and followed her out and into a dark car, she started going as the officer was letting more and more people go through. He got to our car. "Hello, who is in the back?" He asked.
"That's Doctor Starz, she's conked out on medicine but i have her ID here." Kate said handing him the ID.
"I'm going to need to you lower the window." He said. "I don't think that's a good idea, she's very contagious." Kate said. He looked at her right in the eye and said. "Roll. Down. the window." Kate rolled down the window. "Doctor Starz, look at me." He turned me around and I grabbed his wrist.
"Your going to let us through and pretend you didn't see us." I felt myself saying. He repeated me then said. "Your good to go." The car moved and I really did fall asleep.
I woke up in the
passenger seat of a different car. "Don't worry we got to the highway and switched cars just in case." Kate said pulling up into an abandoned gas station. We got out and a guy was waiting for us, he held his out and said, "Hi, I'm Matt." I shook his hand but saw a vision.
He was not to be trusted
"Go change into these." Kate said handing me some clothes. I went into the gas station and changed. then i heard a sound, I walked to the front and saw a girl, 10 maybe, long straight black hair. She ran at the sight of me and I followed. She ran into a truck and slammed the door closed. "Please.. Please let me in." I cried, and ran to the side as I saw Kate and Matt run out. "Please I think they are going to kill me." I cried, she open the door and let me in, then covered me with a blanket. Two other kids, boys came into the van. "I saw lady jane." One said. "Y/N!" Kate called. The boys started the van and left.
"Who's y/n?" One asked. I got out of the blanket.
"I'm y/n."
