MIRANDA POV
"Chris, get up. We're going to school." I said, grabbing his arm and trying to get him up. He opened his eyes and groaned.
"No we're not. We're going to the doctor's office to get you tested." He grumbled in response. I rolled my eyes.
"No we're not. They might not even be able to tell yet, AND if I am pregnant, you told me a werewolf baby is different from other babies." I reminded him.
"Yeah, they're puppies, not babies. So we need to figure out if you're pregnant ASAP because if you stay in human form for too long it's bad for the babies." He said softly.
"I have to be in wolf form for three months?!" I yelled, nearly making him jump out of the bed in shock at my tone.
"I said IF." He said in an irritated voice, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"Well fine. IF I'm pregnant, I can't stay in wolf form for three months!" I protested angrily. He shrugged.
"You'll have to."
"Well I'm not going to the doctor yet. Now come on, let's get to school." I NEEDED to talk to Katherine. Chris resisted me pulling on his arm and just stared at me.
"We're not going to school." He said in a flat voice. I stared at him, and he stared right back. Finally, his gaze was too intense, so I looked away.
"We're still going to school." I mumbled.
"No we're not." He countered smugly.
"FINE. I'll go to school." I announced, getting off the bed. He grabbed my wrist and I looked back at him.
"Please don't make this a repeat of yesterday. I don't want to have to stop you again." He warned.
"Then don't stop me." I said with a wink, ripping my hand out of his grasp and standing up. I went over to the dresser, but suddenly he was there, blocking my path. His eyes glowed orange in warning.
"I have to stop you. I care about your safety." He said, reaching up to stroke my cheek.
"If you cared about my safety then you'd be smart enough to keep Adam in your sight while I talked to Katherine somewhere else." I said persuasively. Chris wrapped his arms around me, kissing me softly.
"Isn't there anything I can do to dissuade you?" He mumbled as he continued to kiss me. I smiled a little and shook my head.
"Nope. Now come on, let's go." I said happily, moving around him and getting some clean clothes out of the dresser. He watched me as I got dressed, and I snapped at him to go get ready. He chuckled and stopped staring.

We raced through the woods again, finally finding a path as we made our way towards the school. Chris still wasn't too keen on going, but he had to understand that even though he might consider Katherine to be a part of Adam's pack, I still considered her my best friend. And I had a plan.
Once we phased back and got to school, my eyes scanned the crowd for Adam's stall stature. If I could at least find him, I knew Katherine wouldn't be too far away. I finally found him, at Katherine's locker with a smile on his face. I started to make my way over there, but Chris' firm hand on my shoulder stopped me.
"What?" I asked, a little exasperated.
"Adam's still over there. I need to get him away." Chris replied, to my surprise sounding a little worried. I shrugged.
"He's not gonna hurt me Chris. He doesn't want me back anymore. He has Katherine." Chris just stared at me pleadingly.
"Trust me, I'd feel better if he was gone." He said, staring at me until I gave in. I hate how that tactic of his always worked.
