Part 6 : I love you

I woke up to my phone blowing up like crazy. I looked over and read the notifications. 17 notifications from Grayson.

"Shit." I opened my phone and went into the conversation.
(These are all separate texts.)

Grayson🤤🤦🏼‍♂️:Wtf Ayla!! My twin brother really?? Got nothing to say?! You better have a good explanation. Ayla answer your fucking phone.

*12 missed calls.
I called Grayson, figuring it would be easier to explain.

"Grayson? I just woke up. And I do have an explanation." There was a few seconds of silence. "And that is?" I took a breath before responding. "Ethan asked me out weeks ago, before you did. I told him yes but he never mentioned it again until last night."

He started yelling. "You still went out with him! You should've said no." "Grayson! We aren't even official! I don't know why you're so angry!" His breathing got heavy before screaming into the phone. "ETHAN STOLE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! HE CANT TAKE YOU TOO!" His voice cracked and I heard a sob. Is Grayson Dolan is crying over me?

"Grayson.." I whispered. "Look I'm sorry. I- can you come over? This is something I need to say in person." I got nervous. He was just very angry, I don't know what he has in mind. "Sure. I'll be there soon."

I hung up the phone and didn't bother changing. I decided to walk since I didn't have a car and Grayson's house wasn't that far from mine.

When I arrived I opened the door and Grayson answered. "Hey." He let me inside. "What was it that you needed to say to me?" I asked him.

He walked up to me and grabbed me by the hips. He laid his forehead on mine, looking into my eyes. He's eyes were watering a bit and his breathing was heavy.

"I- I love you." He whispered. I stood there in silence for a few seconds, my jaw dropped. Tears came to my eyes.

"You don't have to say it back, but I need you to know. I love you so fucking much Ayla." I waited a few seconds before responding. "No, no. I love you too Grayson."

He chuckled a little bit and attached his lips to mine. It felt like the world was spinning and sparks were flying.

I'm in love with Grayson Dolan. If you would've told me just months in advance that I would be in love with Grayson I would've told you you were crazy, but here I am.

We stopped kissing and we both stood there, our foreheads connected for a few seconds longer before we both smiled and separated.

"Do you wanna watch a movie?" He offered, walking to the kitchen for popcorn. "Sure. Of course."

I walked into the living room and sat on the couch waiting for him to return from the kitchen. He sat down next to me and put the popcorn in between us.

"What do you want to watch?" He asked. "How about the kissing booth?" I suggested. He laughed and nodded. He scrolled through movies on Netflix before coming across the Kissing Booth.

He put it on and I cuddled up onto him. He put his arm around me and rested his jaw on the top of my head. I feel safe in his arms.

I fell asleep shortly after in Grayson's arms. When I woke up there was a blanket on me and Grayson was no where to be found.

I sat up and looked around. "Grayson?" I called out. He walked down stairs. "Hey baby. Finally up?" He chuckled.

"Shut up." I said playfully. "You're too cute Ayla. You are too cute." He smiled and gave me a hug, squeezing me tight.

"How about we go finish that nap in my bed? It'll probably be more comfortable than the couch." He laughed. "I might just take you up on that." I smiled.

We walked upstairs into his bedroom and he cuddled up behind me, in a spoon position. I fell back to sleep almost immediately, feeling safe in his arms.

"I love you." I whispered before falling asleep. "I love you too." I heard him say just as I drifted off.
