Chapter 1: First Day at Ridgewood Academy

I stumbled through the crowd of students in a hallway of Ridgewood Academy, one of the most ambitious and aspired schools internationally. Millions from across the world craved to attend this school, it could open hundreds of doors to their futures but it wasn’t easy to get in. You needed money. A lot of it.

The fee to actually attend for a year was unbelievable, it was probably worth more than my old house. Luckily, I had a scholarship whereas others actually had to pay the correct amount as their lives and futures depended on it.

I didn’t intend to go to Ridgewood, I didn’t even apply as I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it but Ridgewood wanted me, they demanded me. They offered a scholarship, a new car, a new pool and even a new house; all because of my grades. My parents could not refuse; they wanted to live in luxury and they also wanted to get rid of me. My parents weren’t particularly fond of me; they preferred my 19 year old sister, Kara. She was the perfect one: tall, beautiful and vain. The type that got what she wanted whenever she wanted. She's a spoilt brat that only cares about herself. She was materialistic and two-faced, her dream like many others: To marry a rich man.

Peoples’ bodies slammed against mine as they tried to get to class. I had no I idea where I was going. There were so many doors and people, my mind buzzed as the students talked over their common interests while I was lost and alone.

The hallway slowly started to empty until the claustrophobic air had returned back to normal. I turned at a corner but bump into what felt like a brick wall. “Ouch…” I mumbled as I rubbed my aching head.

“Watch where you’re going!”  the wall yelled in a deep masculine voice. I hadn’t realised that a pile of papers had fallen. I immediately bent down to pick them up only to meet the blazing hot hands of the so called wall. My hands immediately retracted from its burning soft skin. “S…Sor..Sorry…” I stammered. I couldn’t help but look at the most beautiful being I had ever seen. He had black tousled hair and copper skin with dark eyes which engulfed me until I was breathless. His crisp white shirt clung to his skin, the academy crest printed on his chest. The navy blazer fitting his body so perfectly while his beige trousers hung lowly at his hips.

“Are you going to stop staring at me now?” the man beauty asked with a smirk. I immediately stood up and looked at my hands, playing with my finger nails. “Sorry…” I apologised again.

“You’re new here aren’t you?” he asked showing no emotion. I nodded unable to speak.

“Hey guys! We have a newbie!” He shouted standing up straight. Two boys, both with unique allure, walked over grinning.

“Look what we have here?” A person with golden blond hair, emerald eyes and pale skin asked.

“Leave her alone Jason!” Another guy shoved him aside to be in front of me. “Hi! I’m Ace Archer. What’s your name?” Ace asked cheerfully his hazel eyes glistened with comfort, his chestnut hair ruffled.
