Chapter 5: No way.

The day had ended the same way it did yesterday. I went to all my classes, took some class tests and aced them with flying colours. I was waiting outside school for Chase by his flashy ‘Blue Lotus Exige S240’. Bleh.

Let me just say, many girls may find it impressive but I’m not that kind of person. Those who show off their money remind me of my parents, I don't miss them at all.

“Hey!” I heard a familiar voice.

I turned to see Lisa running at me...full speed.

She jumped and hugged me whilst wrapping her long legs around my waist.

“Lisa-” I choked “Can’t...breath…” God! She weighed more than she looked.

“Oh! Sorry!”  She bounced off but her arm still lay around my neck “I just missed you so much! I haven’t seen you since lunch.”

“Yeah, every class dragged.” I giggled “So, did you find out about Chase?”

“Oh! Yes-” She shook her head vigorously. “I mean no! I haven’t found out yet, Ace still isn’t telling me.” I could tell she was lying. It was pretty easy since the grip around my neck tightened.

“Okay…” I said feeling suspicious as she started to break into a sweat.

“Oh! Look at the time, I really must be going! I have a thing happening tonight! Don’t want to miss that!” She shouted uncontrollably.

“Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow then.” I smiled, her death grip relaxing.

“Alright. See you.” She ran over to a silver car and got into the back seat.

It drove away almost immediately.

I sighed still waiting whilst tapping my foot on the wet concrete.

Gusts of wind swept over my body, I gripped onto my skirt trying not to flash anybody. Not that there was anyone here.

It had been half an hour and Chase still hadn’t arrived yet. I had a near death experience when it came to his screaming lectures on lateness and here I am...ON TIME but he was nowhere to be found. I was soaking in rain water as I clutched my bag to my chest, praying the the water wouldn’t ruin my notes. I shivered and crouched on wet floor next to the car.

“I don’t even know how to control myself around her! Every time I look at her, I want to kiss her so bad!” I heard a husky voice shout over the pattering of the rain.

Chase was jogging across the car lot, gripping onto his phone but he paused abruptly when he spotted my tiny form by his car. He walked right past me, sliding into the driver's seat on the opposite side. I stood up and straightened my skirt still shielding my bag.

I began to run through the rain but I felt a warm calloused hand grip around my arm. “Where do you think you’re going?!” He shouted over the rain.

“Home!” I yelled back turning to run again ignoring how fast he grabbed me.

“I don’t think so! We’ve got homework to finish!” He pulled me by my arm and pushed me into the passenger seat.
