Chapter 6: I’m a Werewolf and you’re my Mate

It took me a moment to process what he had just said...before laughing hysterically. I clutched onto my stomach, howling with laughter. I leaned onto his shoulder, still giggling from his joke.

Suddenly, I felt his broad arms circle around my waist and pull me close into his chest.

“I’m not joking, Yuuki. I really am a werewolf.”

“Right and I’m a hobbit.” I replied sheepishly.

“Oh yeah?! Then explain to me how I knew you were in trouble with those biker guys, huh?" He persisted, pressing my chest against his. "I heard you scream even though I was over 50 miles away and I didn’t just hear it in my ears; I heard it in my heart too.”

“You were in the building at the time. Close enough to hear that pervert trying to assault the girl, got there just in time to save me. Purely a coincidence.” I said bluntly. It wasn’t as imaginative but it had to do. Logic conquered all.

“Why would I be in that ratty old building?!” He shouted leaning his head closer to mine.

“Be…beca…because you had a one night stand!” I smiled at what I had said.

“One night-! WHAT?! I don’t have one night stands!”

“Mmm…” I thought to myself, He does look like the type that has one night stands often. He’s definitely not a virgin.

“I do not look like the type that has one night stands and I am a virgin! I may be 18  and a guy but that doesn’t mean that I have to lose my virginity.” He eavesdropped on my thoughts. HE EAVESDROPPED ON MY THOUGHTS! “I’m an Alpha, for God’s sake! I can only be with my mate!”

“What the…?! How did you…?!” I asked incoherently. I couldn’t even finish my questions! I shook my head and pushed at his chest.

“Hear your thoughts?” He smirked. “It only works with an Alpha & His Mate.”

“How long have you…?”

“Since the day I met you. ‘Man beauty’, huh?” He mocked me, grinning.

My cheeks burned with embarrassment. I screamed, turning to leave but he was already leaning in front of the only exit, a door he had just closed and locked.

Crap.

He sighed, crossing his muscular arms over his chest. “Do you believe me now?”

“I might believe you but that doesn’t mean I need anything to do with a mean person like you!” I yelled.

“Mean person? Seriously, who taught you how to insult people? A goat?” He chuckled deeply.

“No! I just don’t normally have to insult people!”

“Am I your first?” He smirked at how erotic it sounded.

“No…” I muttered, feeling light-headed. Waiting in the bitter rain had its consequences. “It doesn’t matter! I just want to go home!” I shouted.

“No.” He answered simply.

“Look, I’m wet, I have a headache and my ass hurts from sitting on the concrete floor for half an hour waiting for you. So, just take me home.” I pleaded.
