One Shots & Tidbits

KC (FF5 fanfic)

I walked the grounds of the amusement park, wondering what the crap I was thinking, coming today. It was hot, crowded, and my mother was just getting on my nerves as usual. With not watching where I was going, I looked up to see a medium-built guy with black and red hair standing in front of me.

"Whatcha got there?" he asked, pointing to the blue cotton candy I held. Really? I thought, this guy doesn't know cotton candy when he sees it?

I intended to walk away, but for some reason, I found myself answering him. "It's blue cotton candy, my personal favorite! my name is KC, want some?"

"Sure! Thanks dude! The name is Crouton, aka Jacob Olds, I drum in a band called Family Force 5!"

A moment later, we began walking, and I noticed we were heading backstage!

"Dude, I can't go back there," I said with a frown. "that's only for bands and friends, not a nobody like me.

He laughed and took my hand, sending my heart beating hard. I'm not sure why I reacted like that. Crouton just nodded at the security guard, carefully steering me backstage. He showed me around, still holding my hand. I couldn't breath, he was a really cute guy in a band, and was holding MY hand!

"Okay, KC, I gotta sound check, wanna check it out?" I nodded, having told him I'd always wanted to learn to play drums. He took me over, and showed me his set-up at the back of the stage. He told me to sit down, and when I obliged, handed me the sticks and told me to go crazy! I didn't hesitate, and poured my heart and soul out for about thirty seconds. I would've gone for longer had he not stopped me by wrapping me in a huge hug, and asking me to play that night with their set!

I agreed and then saw my mother looking at the stage, and boy did she look mad! Jumping down off the stage, I ran over to her, beaming with excitement from hanging out with a drummer, a cute one at that, for several hours.
