(March 2017)
"Jules pass me the straighteners please," Lydia ask me over the music playing loudly.
"You sure? Your hair always looks better curled." I tell her while passing them over anyway.
"I know but Lucas prefers it straight and if I have any chance of getting with him tonight then I need to do everything I can."
"You know Lucas has a girlfriend Lyd?" Elle asks her with her eyebrows raised.
"Sure but she is nothing compared to me." Lydia replies shrugging her shoulders.
Rolling my eyes I get back to doing my makeup. The eyeliner on my smoky eye really sets off the look and makes my blue pop. I choose a nude colour for my lips so they don't take the attention away from my eyes.
"Julia, do you want me to do your hair?" Elle asks me, putting her own straighteners down.
"Sure babes," I say as I make my way over to her, trying to avoid tripping on all the scattered pieces of makeup.
"So how are things between you and Miles anyway?" Lydia asks me while Elle starts clipping some of my hair together.
"For the most part everything is fine,"
"The most part?" Elle stops playing with my hair and brings her head around to look at me.
"Oh I don't know. He can be great but then at others I feel like I don't know him."
"Ooh trouble in paradise," Lydia pipes up and I throw a cushion at her.
"Where is there trouble in paradise?" a voice asks and standing in the doorway is Miles. "You alright Julia?" he says walking over to me.
"We're alright as well thanks for asking," Elle replies and Miles just rolls his eyes at her.
"I'm good babe, you?" I reply back to him.
"Good, good. I'm just ready to go, are you?"
"Almost, I've just got to do my hair and then get changed," I tell him.
He just stands by my side not really saying anything while we continue to get ready. From the corner of my eyes I watch as he spends his time scrolling through his phone rather than talking to any of us. Maybe it's an uncomfortable environment for him. I try and shrug it off as I continue to get ready.
"Right you. You need to get out," Elle shoos at Miles once my hair is done. "We need to get changed now and we can't do that with you in here."
"Well you can and besides, it is not like Julia is hiding anything I haven't seen before." He replies back while giving me a wink.
"Just leave," I tell him while lightly pushing him out of the door. "We'll only be like fifteen minutes."
"How does getting changed even take that long?" he mutters as he walks down the hallway.
A quick last minute decision means that I decide to change my outfit from a skirt and crop top to a blue dress. The dress hugs my body in all the right places, showing off my boobs and ass in the best possible way.
"You look stunning babes." Lydia squeals at me.
I say the same back as I admire the romper that she is wearing. It is a shade of silver which glistens when it catches the light. Elle looks equally as amazing in a dress that is similar to mine but I black with a slit up one of her thighs.
"You can't go wrong with a LBD," Elle smiles at us while showing herself off.
"Are you girls almost done?" a voice from the other side of the door asks.
"We are babe," I say as I open the door for him to come in.
I expect him to look me up and down and exclaim that I look amazing but he doesn't.
"Is that what you're wearing?" he asks instead with a touch of distain in his voice.
Suddenly the excitement that I was just feeling vanishes and is replaced with something else.
"I could always wear something else?" I tell him but it comes out sounding like a question and my voice is nowhere near as loud as it has been through the night.
"We haven't got time. We were supposed to be at the party ages ago but y'all took your time," he snaps at me while grabbing my hand.
"There's no need to be like that. You could have met us at the party but you chose to come here first. And Jules looks amazing and you should be lucky that you have a girl like that. If you keep that attitude up for much longer, you won't." Elle barks at Miles
For a second he just looks her up and down before muttering a 'whatever' back at her.
On the way to the party we go.
