Warning before you read. This chapter included scenes of sexual violence. I will highlight the first word of that part of the chapter so if you don't want to read it then you know when to stop. It lasts until the end of the chapter.

(New Year, 2018)

Dear Readers,

I can't believe how busy my life is at the moment. I know I have been AWOL for a little while and I promise you that I didn't mean to be. I've become so caught up in my new life that I have very little spare time. When I first moved here, I had no idea where my life was going. I would walk down Oxford Street and see people walking pass with me with such purpose. Everyone seem to know where they were going, even the tourists look like they knew. Then there was me, the newbie but not the tourist. How was I ever supposed to fit in?

Now I feel like I have found my footing in the world, or at least in London. I've been applying to different universities. Just this afternoon I finished my application for the creative writing and journalism under a huge amount of stress because the application closes this evening. Now I have to wait and see if I hear back from any of the universities.

That is not the only thing I have been busy with. I recently got a job with a small magazine company. I've been writing some articles for them and my first one got published a few days ago and I've got another couple in the works to write.

Hopefully you can see why I have been so busy.

Also I fall more and more in love with London every day.

Anyway, these articles are not going to write themselves. Until next time,

Love Cassie

(March 2017)

By the time we get to the party, it is already in full blast. The music can be heard from a few blocks away and there are cars parked all along the street.

"Looks like it is going to be a good night," Lydia says as we approach the front door.

The music is even louder once we enter. People are dancing in every room we walk in, grinding against each other. The floor is already soaked through with spilt beer and whatever else people have thrown on the floor.

"Hey, my boy," shouts one of Miles' friends as we enter the kitchen.

"Craig, how ya been?" Miles asks, pulling him into a man hug.

"Not bad my boy. Have you met my girl Julia?" I hear ask and then suddenly he is pulling me closer to his side.

"I think we've met a couple of times before," I mumble but neither of the boys pays attention to me.

Instead they have both helped themselves to a drink and continued chatting away. Hesitantly I go and make my own drink, realising that for the time being I am on my own. Lydia and Elle have both gone off with some other people that they know while Miles is busy talking with Craig and some other guys.

After a few gulps of beer I begin not to care. I move out of the kitchen area, not that anyone notices, and into the main living room area where the party seems to be really happening. Everyone seems to be dancing with one another with their hands in the air, high above their heads. A few people are on stood on the coffee table which is in the centre of the room, stomping around on it and generally not caring in the slightest.

Shaking my head, I laugh at the people on the table and begin to dance along to the music myself. Just like everyone else, I wave my hands in the air and swing my hips in time to song that I don't recognise. A few moments later, I feel a pair of hands on my hips which make me jump. I turn around, expecting to see Miles stood behind me but instead stands a stranger.

"Hey," I shout to the random guy that is standing behind me.

"Hey, are you new here?" he asks, also shouting so he can be heard over the music.

"No. I've lived around here all my life. Why?"

"Oh, I just assumed because you were alone that you didn't know anyone," he tells me and I feel a warmth grow in the pit of my stomach.

"My friends are somewhere around here," I say while craning my neck around to see if I can find them. "Over there is Lydia," I point out to him, "and my boyfriend is in the kitchen."

"I didn't realise you had a boyfriend. I should probably leave," he says and he begins to walk away.

"No you should stay. It will stop other people coming over to me and forcing me to have this exact same conversation," I laugh at him.

He stays and the two of keep dancing and talking throughout the night. We take it in turns to get drinks and before we know it, we're both pissed.

"Hey babe," a voice slurs behind me and this time I know for certain that it is Miles. "Who's this?" he nods his head in the direction of the guy I have been dancing with all night and it just occurs to me that I don't know his name.

"This is, err," I stutter before I am interrupted with the answer of "Steve."

"Well Steve this has been great. Babe come with me," Miles say and before I have time to say anything, I am being dragged out of the room.

"What are you doing? You can't ditch me all night and the decide to talk to me." I shout at him even though he doesn't seem to be listening.

"I thought we could have our fun," he replies after a few moments and then begins to kiss my neck.

"I might have been in the mood if you hadn't of ditched me all night Miles," I say but he continues his kissing. "Can we not do this right now," I try and pull myself away but instead his grip on me just gets stronger.

"Let's go in here babe," Miles whispers in my ear while pushing me into a room which turns out to be a bedroom.

"This isn't funny Miles. Just let me go. All I want to do is go home," I say as he continues to push me towards the bed.

"Babe you've been dancing with another guy all night. Just give me this and then I promise I won't be mad," he says while his hand creeps under my dress and makes its way towards my breast.

"You want me to sleep with you as a bargain so you don't get mad at me for dancing with someone else. That's a no from me. I haven't done anything wrong and I don't want to have sex with you when you are in this state," I tell him as I try and lift myself off of the bed but he only pushes me down once again.

Before I have the chance to try and move, he straddles himself onto my torso and pins my hands over my head.

"But babe I think you owe me this and I know that you want it as well," he says while pushing my underwear down.

For the next few minutes I try my best to fight him off but nothing works.
