Walking along the stone path in silence, I had a lot to think on as my old family had apologized to me. What were their intentions? All the hatred from Natsu and the group always portraying it, has clouded my trust of anyone except Laxus. Speaking of the brute, every few steps he lets out this hum that's getting rather annoying but i know he's doing it to frustrate me further.
"Could you cut it out already?" I demand without taking so much as a glance back at the man. He huffed and so could hear the shifting of his clothing like he was crossing his body. This time I did glance with a look of triumph only to met with a grin. 'Oh boy' I thought and went racing off as that look was one of chase and I was the rabbit to be caught. Running through the woods with my hair flying and carefree laughing, it was the best feeling I'd had in months and all because I was stressing over being seen as the weak link.
"Hey Luce you stopped. What you thinking about munchkin?" Laxus exclaims just a tad short of breath noticing my stillness. I hated when he spoke to me as if I was a child but it's not like he knew my feelings for him and how he took care of me. As far as I was concerned, I prayed he never knew.
"Nothing, just thinking about how free I feel now. It's different and I love it." I turn back with a smile to look up into those aqua eyes to see a worried expression. I turned my body to face him and gave him a hug to show that I was completely okay. He loosened slightly, cleared his throat and pushed me away, much to my dismay. "We should get back to the path to 'The City Without Sound' and find our quest." He looks away and grunts as I let go and turn to walk away, without letting the tears fall. Guess I will never get to feel him around me like I used to. The hurt is too real to feel.
