"Klaus.. what, uh.., what are you doing here?" She asked, remembering the deal they had made a while back.
"I know we had a deal love, but I didn't come back for you." Klaus said, he knew he was lying, but Caroline didn't have to know that. "Oh.. Then why'd you come back?" Asked the blonde, her smile slowly turning into a frown. He noticed that her smile had faded, and avoided the question, "care for a drink love?" he asked, smirking. "Uh, no I really need to get going." She said, and began to walk to the door. Klaus grabbed her arm, causing her to turn back and look at him, "Caroline, I'm really sorry for all of the pain that I caused you in the past." Caroline smiled at Klaus, "I know.." she stopped talking for a moment, hesitating to ask if he wanted to come to her house, but eventually she asked. Klaus accepted the invitation, so they went to the blonde's house. The two drank and they drank, and then they drank some more. They decided to go to Caroline's room and clothes went flying.

The next day Caroline woke up, cuddling with a naked Klaus. She smiled, then realized who she was cuddling with, "KLAUS?! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?" Klaus opened one eye, closed it again, then with a sigh opened both of his eyes, "Well from the looks of it, love, I'd say things got a little R rated last night." He chuckled, turning onto his side so that he could go back to sleep. "I don't remember anything from last night, besides being at the grill." Caroline said, trying to collect her thoughts. "Mhm, that's nice." Klaus said, still trying to sleep. "Okay, I'm sure you're tired right now, but we really need to figure out what happened!" Caroline said, her voice turning into the voice of none other than bossy Caroline. "Listen, Caroline, we already know what happened, just lay back down.. It's too early for this." Klaus said, turning back onto his other side to face the blonde vampire. "Too early?! Klaus, it's three in the afternoon!" She said, throwing his clothes at him, "I really think that it's time for you to go."

Klaus got out of the bed and put his clothes on, "Fine. I'll go. I thought you had changed, I thought that maybe I'd finally get my chance with you, but you always chase after the guys who never want you. Open your eyes Caroline, I'm the one that's waited years for you!" Klaus said in a tone that he had never used with Caroline before, and left.

Once she was sure that Klaus couldn't hear her, she threw everything sitting on her desk onto the floor in a fit of rage, once she was over her mad spell, she sat against her closet door and began to cry. She hadn't mean to get bitchy with Klaus, it just happened, but he didn't have to take that tone with her.

Caroline called Bonnie so that she could rant to her about her boy problems, then put makeup on so that it didn't look as if she had been crying. When Bonnie arrived she immediately hugged Caroline, "What happened Care, who do I need to hurt?" Bonnie asked, trying to make her best friend feel better. "What, no-" Caroline began, but was cut off by her witchy friend, "Don't lie to me Caroline, I know you have been crying. Your eyes are still red." Just hearing the word "cry" made Caroline want to cry again, and she did. "That's it, Carebear, let it all out." Bonnie smiled, patting her best friend's back. "I saw Klaus last night, and I guess we got so drunk that he decided going up to my room was a good id-" There Bonnie went with the interrupting again, "CAROLINE, TELL ME YOU DIDN'T." Bonnie said, she was trying to be supportive of Caroline, but she thought that what Caroline had done was a poorly made decision. "Bonnie, please, let me finish that isn't even the worst part. I think I may still have feelings for him." She said, holding back her tears. "No. You can't. Do you not remember what he put you through, Caroline?" Bonnie said, her voice full of judgement. "Okay, yes Bonnie, I remember, but he's changed!" Caroline said, her voice becoming shakey.

Bonnie gathered her things, "No, I'm sorry, but I can't watch you put yourself through this." She said before walking out the door. "FINE, BE THAT WAY." Caroline yelled, storming upstairs, "UGH! WHY DOES NO ONE EVER SUPPORT ME ON MY DECISIONS." she sighed, picking her phone up.
"Klaus, I'm sorry, can we please talk?" She pressed the send button, then sat down on her bed, checking her phone every .2 seconds. Finally Klaus answered, his text said: "I guess. I'm going to be at the Grill at nine, we can talk then." Caroline responded with "Great, see you then."
"Wait. It's only five, I still have four hours!" She thought to herself, "Oh well, I guess that gives me time to choose an outfit and do my hair and makeup." The four hours flew by faster than the time it'd take you to say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"

When she arrived at the grill Klaus' jaw dropped, causing Caroline to smirk. She always liked to watch the way boys reacted to her dressing up. "Caroline, yo- you look stunning." Klaus said, checking her out again. Caroline began to blush, "Thank you Klaus, but I'm not here for that and you know it." She said, motioning for the bartender. Klaus looked her dead in the eyes, "No, Caroline, I actually don't. What did you want to talk about?" He asked, before sending the bartender back to what he was doing to begin with. Caroline took a deep breath and said, "Klaus, the reason I got so upset with you earlier is because I still have feelings for you." She said, looking at the hybrid that sat beside her. Klaus said nothing, he just sat there.

He eventually found the words he was looking for, and said, "Caroline, I have been waiting for years to hear those words come out of your mouth, but I don't know if you really mean them or if it's your way of apologizing, telling me what I want to hear, but not meaning it. I'm sorry Caroline, I just-" Caroline interrupted him with a kiss, you couldn't fake the kind of passion that she had put into that kiss, "You just what?" She said, biting her lip.

Klaus was at a loss for words again, the only thing he could do was smirk. "Klaus? Hello, Earth to Klaus." Caroline began to wave her hand in front of him, chuckling. "I'm sorry, Caroline.. I have to go." And with that he camped out of the grill. Caroline sighed and paid for his drinks.

Back home, Caroline ran herself a bath to try to relax. She was so stressed out over this Klaus thing. What if she was just one of his one night stands? What if she finally meant nothing to him? But, that thing he had said about he had always been the one to wait for her, if that didn't mean he liked her then what did it mean? Was that his way of trying to make her feel guilty? Or, what if after all of these years of "being lead on by caroline" he decided it was time for revenge. So many thoughts ran through Caroline's head, each worse than the last. Once finished with her bath, she let the water out of the tub and wrapped herself in a towel. She walked to her room and dressed herself in pajamas. "Okay Caroline, you deserve some more you time, girl." She said, opening her bedroom door.

The blonde vampire walked down the stairs to the kitchen where she opened the freezer Dior, she then took a pint of ice cream out, got herself a spoon, walked into the living room and put a movie on to watch. Half way through the movie there was a knock on the door.

Caroline paused her movie, then went to open the door. "What the.." There was no one at the door, she went to close the door when she saw a piece of paper lying on the doorstep.

The paper read: "Dear Caroline,
I'm sorry, but coming back was a mistake. I should have never broken our promise, I should have stayed in New Orleans, which is why I plan on returning tonight. I wish you nothing but happiness, love.
-Klaus."

Caroline felt like crying, but she also felt like screaming. That was the second time she had let him get away from her. Everytime she admitted that she had feelings for him, he bolted. She told herself that it was for the better, that she'd be happier this way, but was that the truth? Would she really be happier this way? There was only one way to find out.

For the next three weeks Caroline went on living her life the way she had been living it before Klaus had come back, but she just couldn't get him off her mind. Everywhere she went she always saw or heard something that reminded her of him.

Since she couldn't escape the thought of him anywhere she went, she decided that she was going to go to New Orleans and tell him that her feelings for him were real, they weren't just something that she convinced herself she had because he had made her feel guilty during their argument.

Caroline packed her bags and headed off. Once she had arrived she reminded herself that it was too late to turn back so she had to do what she came here to do.
