Once she had arrived she reminded herself that it was too late to turn back so she had to do what she came here to do. Caroline walked into a bar, she thought that since it was Klaus she was looking for that he may be there, but when she saw no trace of him it lowered her hopes in finding him.
"Um, excuse me.. miss?" Caroline said to a blonde bartender. The blonde looked up from what she was doing, "yes?" she said, slightly raising an eyebrow. "I.. I was looking for a friend of mine and I was wondering if you've seen him in here before?" Caroline said, pulling up a picture of her and Klaus on her phone.
The bartender looked at the picture, before letting out a long sigh. "Yeah, I know him. I'm guessing you're Caroline, Klaus has spoke very highly of you." She said as she walked out from behind the bar, closer to Caroline, "come on, I'll show you where he's at."Caroline followed closely behind the stranger, she wasn't even a hundred percent sure that she could trust this woman, but she was sure that the awkward silence was killing her. "I'm Caroline." She said without hesitation.
"I know, we've been over this." The blonde said, trying not to roll her eyes.
"Okay, well then it's your turn to introduce yourself isn't it?" She said, crossing her arms, still following the somewhat short blonde.
"Fine, I'm Camille." She said, rolling her eyes. The two blondes finally arrived at their destination, "well, here we are." Camille said, opening the door. Caroline walked into the house and looked around, she had never seen a place like it before.
Klaus barged into the room with Hayley, the girl who had used her now ex years ago, right behind him. "I refuse to talk about this anymore. End of discussion." He said in a tone which Caroline had definitely never heard come from him. Hayley rolled her eyes, "You're lucky you have company, but this conversation isn't over Klaus." she hissed, walking out of the room.
Klaus faced Caroline, "Caroline.. I'm so sorry you had to witness that." The two looked at each other and the room filled with awkward silence. "How did you find me?" Klaus asked, looking around. "Ca-" Caroline started, but the realized they were the only two in the room. Camille must have darted when he barged into the room. "I asked around, people told me you might be here." Caroline said, shrugging.
Klaus chuckled, "I see. Well, what brought you to New Orleans?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. Caroline blanked, she knew what she wanted to say before she had got there, but when she and Klaus were in the same room it was different. She had no idea what she wanted to say. "Well, yanno, there was way too much drama back in Mystic Falls." She said, trying to play it cool. Yeah, that drama was because of Klaus, but it was her fault too. "Oh, so you're traveling." He said as he sat on the couch, still making eye contact with the blonde vampire. She shrugged, yeah, you could say she was traveling. "Well, you are more than welcome to stay here as long as you'd like." He said, still making eye contact with Caroline. "Thank you, Klaus." She whispered, trying not to blush.
"Let me show you to your room." He said, standing back up. He led her up the stairs to a room. This wasn't any ordinary room though, it was huge. Caroline looked at the room in awe. "By the look on your face I'd say this room will be just fine," He chuckled, "the bathroom is right down the hall, you can't miss it." And with that Klaus left the room.
Caroline opened the curtains in the room to let in some light, "wow this room is gorgeous." she muttered to herself, straightening a pillow.
How could you not bring yourself to tell him why you are here?
Why did you let him think you are traveling?
What the hell, Caroline? Her thoughts were eating at her, how could she not bring herself to do what she had came here for in the first place? She was so ashamed of herself, but there was always tomorrow. Caroline walked to the bathroom, quietly locked the door behind her and hopped into the shower. The shower always helped her clear her mind. After her shower, Caroline went back to her room and sat down on the bed. She felt like a queen, and she loved it. Soon she fell asleep, cuddling the pillow next to her.
The next morning when she woke up she could hear arguing, she tiptoed to the bathroom and brushed her hair, then she quietly walked down the stairs. "Good morning, Caroline. How'd you sleep?" Hayley asked looking at the blonde standing on the stairs. "Damn it..," Caroline whispered to herself, "I slept fine." She smiled, trying not to make this situation more awkward than it had to be. Klaus looked the girl up and down, smirked, then turned back to Hayley, "I hate to cut this short, little wolf, but I have a guest to tend to." He said, walking away from Hayley. "Oh no, I can fix something f-" She began, but was cut off by Klaus, "Nonsense, love, I'm the host." He smiled at her then began to walk to the kitchen. Caroline and Hayley both followed.
Caroline wasn't used to people doing stuff for her, so she cleaned the kitchen while Klaus cooked. Hayley got tired of being ignored by Klaus, so she left. "I'm really sorry if I've caused any arguments between the two of you." Caroline said, putting up a dish. Klaus looked back at her, "You haven't, love. We're always arguing, don't ever blame yourself for that." He chuckled, sitting two plates at the table, then another. "Who's the third plate for?" The blonde asked, looking at Klaus in confusion. "It's for Hope." He said, pulling the seat out for Caroline.
After breakfast, Hope kept following Caroline everywhere she went, and Caroline thought it was adorable. "Okay, Hope, you seem bored of following me around, what would you like to do?" Caroline asked, sitting on her knees so that she was closer to Hope's height. Hope looked down at the blonde's hands, then took one in her own and pointed at Caroline's nails, "can we do mine?" she asked, giggling. Caroline nodded and led the girl to her room, "pick a color, Hope." Caroline said, pulling out a huge box of nail polishes. "This one!!" Hope said, picking up a light yellow.
After Caroline painted Hope's nails the girls played hide and seek for a while, then tag, then twister, the hide and seek again. Soon enough, it was time for Hope to go to bed, but she refused. She wanted to play with Caroline some more. "Hope, I promise that if you go to sleep now we will play all day tomorrow. Okay?" Caroline said, bending down beside Hope's bed. Hope nodded and shut her eyes, and Caroline and Klaus left the room. "You know, Caroline, Hope really seems to have taken a liking to you already. Thank you for making her day fun." Klaus said, walking behind Caroline. Caroline stopped at the entrance of her bedroom door to look at Klaus before walking into the room, "It was no problem, she's adorable. Good night Klaus." Caroline said walking into the room, closing the door behind herself. "Goodnight, love." Klaus whispered, walking to his room.
Sorry there wasn't a lot of klaroline in this, but I wanted to find a good way to show the bond Caroline and Hope are about to form. Please vote and let me know what you thought! (:
