Fun Day with the kids

Yesterday was Maya's birthday and I'm glad that she had a lot of fun. Today, Maya and I are babysitting Jacob, Daisy and August. We told our parents to go out and have fun while we watched the kids; at first, they said no but then we convinced them.

"Knock knock!" I heard Shawn shout from the door.
"Who's there?" My dad asked, he thought that Shawn was going to ask him a knock knock joke.
"No, Cory! This isn't a knock knock joke! It's my way of telling Maya and Riley that we're here!" Shawn chuckled, shaking his head as I opened the door, hugging all of them.
"I knew that, Shawnee!" My father exclaimed.
"Sure you did, Cor!" Shawn replied rolling his eyes at Cory.

Katy and my mom rolled their eyes at their husbands usual childish behavior. Katy hands me Jacob and Daisy ran up the stairs to see the twins. Auggie followed behind her because he didn't want Daisy, who's four to wake up the twins. I still can't believe Auggie is twelve, I remember when he was just a baby.

Our parents said goodbye and walked out to my parents car. We smiled and waved goodbye, closing the door and we walked upstairs to see Auggie and Daisy outside of the twins' room and Daisy was trying to walk in but Auggie was holding her back.

"Sorry about Daisy." Auggie whispered as he looked at us.
"It's alright, Auggie. Daisy, you want to see Sofia and Dove?" Maya asked, kneeling down in front of my baby sister. Daisy nodded her head and Maya grabbed her hand as she walked her to Dove & Sofia, who were still sleeping peacefully in their cribs.
"You have to be very quiet." Maya whispered to Daisy. Daisy nods understandingly.

Four hours have passed and it's now 2:00 pm, we decided to take the kids to McDonald's. Auggie and Daisy finished their food first and asked if they could go play in the playhouse. We nod and they walk over to the playhouse. We let them play for two hours and it's now 4:00 pm.
"What do you guys want to do next?" I asked my siblings.
"Can we go get ice cream?" Daisy and Auggie asked in unison.
"Of course we can!" Maya exclaimed as she puts the twins and Jacob in their stroller. We walked out of the McDonalds and we got in the car; I start driving to the ice cream shop and August and Daisy were really excited.

We got to the ice cream shop and I carried Dove and Jacob, Maya carried Sofia and we both walk inside the ice cream shop with Auggie and Daisy in front of us.

"Hi, what would you like today?" The older woman asked us, giving us a friendly smile.
"Hi, i want a cookies n cream in a small cup, please." Auggie said politely and the older woman nods, grabbing a small cup and scooping two scoops of cookies n cream ice cream in his cup, handing it to him.
"Thank you."
"You're very welcome."
"Can I have cookie dough ice cream in a small cone, please?" Daisy asked, smiling at the older woman. The older woman hands Daisy her ice cream.
"Thank you."
"You're very welcome."
"I'll have vanilla ice cream in a small cup, please." I said politely and the older woman hands me my ice cream.
"Thank you."
"You're very welcome."
"I'll have the same thing as her, please." Maya said and the older woman quickly scoops up the ice cream and hands it to Maya. It was 13.50 in total and I hand the woman the money.
"Thank you, have a nice day!" Auggie, Daisy, Maya and I say in unison.
"You guys have a nice day as well!"
"Thank you."

We all eat our ice cream and finally head home. Four hours have passed and it's now six in the afternoon. I make some macaroni cheese for dinner and we all began to eat.
"I missed hanging out with you guys." Auggie said to us.
"We missed hanging out with you too, Auggie." Maya replied giving him a hug.
The doorbell rings and Maya gets up to greet our parents, they left at nine in the morning and we told them that they could come over whenever they want. Maya let's them walk in and August began to pout.
"I don't want to leave, mom." August told our mother.
"We were actually thinking on staying for a little while since we haven't seen Riley and Maya in a long time." Mom explained to Auggie. We smiled and I told them to sit down, I gave them all macaroni and cheese and handed them bottles of soda. We talked for four more hours and it was ten at night.
"Do you guys want to spend the night?" Maya and I asked in unison.
"Sure! If that's alright with you two!" Katy smiled.
"Of course it's alright with us!" I exclaimed.
