Left Alone

Kaden: I woke up still half asleep. I forced myself to sit up. But then I noticed Kyle was gone. I jumped out of my bed and grabbed my phone. It was 10:15 a.m. I texted Kyle. But I was too impatient to wait for a response so I called him. No answer. I called him again. No answer. I was starting to worry. I sat in my chair and put my head on the desk. I started wondering, did I fall for him and let him control my feelings? Then let him throw me away like I'm trash? I needed answers. I sat back up and I noticed a folded piece of paper on my desk that wasn't there before. I unfolded it and started to read it out loud. "When you wake up, I'll probably be gone. But this is all going way too fast. I'm scared. Scared of what happened with my past. Now I'm scared of what will happen with my future. I think we need-"

Kadens mom: "Hey, who are you talking to?"

Kaden: As my mom walked in I quickly shoved the paper in my back pocket. "Oh- Uh no one." She left my room and I finished reading. What does he mean by 'Scared of what happened with my past.' I needed to talk with Kyle in person.

Kyle: When I woke up I started to regret my decision last night. I had two missed calls from Kaden. I'm not ready to talk to him yet. I went through the rest of my day not thinking about Kaden. But I still kept him in the back of my mind. I missed his personality, his company, his perfect hair, his cute nose and his soft plush lips that fit perfect with mine. But I knew we could never be together. I was so deep in thought I didn't even notice Tucker was standing by my door looking at me sitting on my bed. "Hey."

Tucker: "So, hows it going with you and that guy. You still haven't even told me about him."

Kyle: I looked down at the floor trying to ignore his question.

Tucker: "Kyle?"

Kyle: "I guess things, kinda ended."

Tucker: "What do you mean?" I walked over to Kyle and sat next to him.

Kyle: his name is Kaden. We kissed a couple times. And I could tell that he wanted to be exclusive. But I ended it before we could even get to that. Am I a horrible person?"

Tucker: "No, Kyle you're not. But I thought he changed you to start dating again."

Kyle: "I thought so too. But then-" My phone was buzzing in my pocket. "Kaden is calling."

Tucker: "Kyle, you have to answer."

Kyle: "I hesitated to hit the accept button. But I did. I held the phone up to my ear and waited for Kaden to speak.

Kaden: "Kyle! Why did you leave and write me a note! I'm starting to worry that I mean nothing to you."

Kyle: "I know that it sounds crazy right now but you have to trust me, I have a good explanation."

Kaden: "What's your excuse then?"

Kyle: "I think it's time to tell you about my past."
