Deathbringer POV

Oh no. What had he done? Deathbringer watched as Glory flew away into the treetops, tears falling down her face. He couldn't believe he had called her lazy and useless and dumb. And- Also, he said he... hated her.

Deathbringer went after her, calling out her name. If she got hurt it would be his fault. Do I have any purpose to live? If Glory never speaks to me again... I would die, he thought sadly.

But then he remembered all the awful things he yelled at her, and he wanted to claw his own face off. How? Why? Deathbringer stopped short. He knew why he said those hurtful things. He was angry that Glory didn't say she loved him back.

That wasn't a reason to hurt her. Deathbringer had said the unforgivable words. He wouldn't blame her if she hated him now. But still, he had to find her.

He flew faster than ever, and eventually, he found Glory sobbing- yes, sobbing- underneath a banyan tree.

Deathbringer swooped down and landed gracefully on the grass. "Glory?" he said tentatively.

"What do you want?" Glory spat out the words as if they were poision.

Her scales were lily green, white, blue, and red. She was probably embarrassed to be seen crying, he lied. No, she was angry and hurt, that's why her scales were such odd colors.

"Glory... I know you probably won't forgive me... but, I'm sorry. I really am. I was so angry I wasn't thinking.." Deathbringer said.

He held his breath.

She didn't respond.

"I really do love you," he said, hoping she would answer.

"You, of all dragons, love me? Wow. Why? Because you feel sorry for me? I don't want your pity. I told you I was done. Goodbye."

Glory took off, flying away into the night.

Deathbringer just stood there, speechless. He had his chance- but he failed. She hated him.

And it was all his fault.

Deathbringer wrapped his wings around himself, and did something he hadn't done since he was a four-year-old dragonet.

He cried. Not only did he cry, but he sobbed. He sobbed his heart out, feeling worse than he did after Quickstrike's death.

Little did he know, Glory was watching him cry from the sky, feeling pity but not going down to comfort him.
