Back to the Game

Conner's POV

After talking with my brother I thought it was best to leave him alone for a while.  I felt awful that Katie shut him down so suddenly, and it was super unexpected.  Anyways, I decided to head towards Cabin 3 and continue the game.  

Piper's POV

We all sat in Cabin 3 when suddenly Conner walked back in.  "Hey guys," he said and looked around glumly.  I knew Travis was hurting, and I'm pretty positive that effected Conner too.  Still, Conner came in and decided to continue playing "But my brother isn't gonna play for a while so yeah," he said awkwardly.  We all sat in silence and finally I decided to speak up, "Conner we're sorry for what happened to Travis.  This was supposed to be just a fun game, but it got a little carried away.  I can go talk to Katie if you want."  Conner looked at me and replied "Look, I appreciate it, but that's Travis's decision not mine.  It just sucks that he got rejected, but it happens.  Let's just get over it and continue with the game."  That was a surprising response from him, but it seemed fine with everyone else so we continued.  

"Alright, Conner why don't you pick someone then?" I said.  He looked around the circle and settled on Y/N.  "Truth or dare, Y/N."

Y/N's POV

Oh Gods.  I knew that I would eventually be picked, but I didn't even know who this Conner kid was.  I hope he doesn't think of anything too creative.  "Dare" I confidently say.  Everyone in the circle gasps.  I looked around confused.  Percy says "Y/N are you sure about that?" and I reply "Of course, why not?"  "Okay then.  Good luck" Percy said and looked at me like I was soon going to die.  I didn't know it then, but he was right, I regretted picking dare more than anything else in my life.  

"I dare you to go flirt with Mr. D,"  he said.  I along with everybody else was stunned.  My mouth hung wide open and I didn't know what to do.  "No way!" I retorted.  "Fine, at least go and serenade him," he said.  I thought about it, I was the new girl and nobody knew me, yet I was about to make a fool of myself in front of the entire camp.  I hated big crowds and as much as I loved music, I never sang in front of anyone.  That was all about to change.  "Deal," I said.  Conner smirked and told me "Good.  Now you could probably ask the Apollo cabin for some backup vocals or instrumentals it's up to you, but you have to sing Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You.'"  I nodded my head and headed towards the Apollo cabin.

I knocked on the door and was greeted by a blonde hair kid that introduced himself as Will.  "Hi," I started, "So look, I'm trying to Serenade someone really special and I need someone to play guitar for me.  Do you think you could help out?"  Will looked at me confused but said "Uh sure.  I'm more of a healer, but I can play a little.  What song were you thinking about?"  After I gave him the details and he warmed up a little, we walked over to the Big House porch where Mr. D sat.  I looked around, and sure enough, I saw Conner, Piper and everyone else waiting for me and the show.  I was so nervous, especially since the song was so difficult, and oh yeah Mr. D is a God who can literally vaporize me.  But I wasn't going to back out of a dare.  I walk up to the porch in front of Mr. D who looks annoyed and confused at the sight of me.  I turn to Will and nod my head.  He starts strumming his guitar and then I close my eyes and start to sing.  

Author's Note

Hi everyone.  So I know I have been super inconsistent with writing.  I never thought I would get so many reads and that people would actually be interested in this lol.  I will start this start writing again and try to bring in more characters to the story.  As always, if you have ideas for dares or truths please comment them below!  And yeah if you're reading this right now and wonder what happened to some of the chapters and the OG character- I changed it to be more interactive and fun, cause I always liked to have myself as a character when I read, so I wanted to do that as a writer.  I will try to update later this week!
