A year after leaving the village
Mai's POV"For this mission you will silently infiltrate and take this scroll out of the Kage tower"Pain-sama said as he held up a picture.
"Leader-sama, if I may ask, why would we need this scroll?"Blackie questioned as I looked at the picture closely.
"We don't but our client is willing to pay a fortune for it. You are leaving for Suna as soon as possible and are not using disguise"the orange head replied and we both nodded before exiting the office.
"Jeez, we just came from a mission, can't he give us a break"my partner huffed, pouting like a little kid. I hmed in response, paying more attention to the train of thoughts circling in my mind rather than the 17-year-old Ashikaga standing next to me.
'Suna, huh, haven't been there in a few years and who knows?Maybe I'll bump into Gaara' my thoughts trailed off as I stared in the distance.
'When did you become optimistic?' Kurimi's voice rang in my ears.
'Shut it, stupid fox' I replied, getting annoyed. Noticing I was ignoring him this whole time, the raven head smirked.
"Oh, is my little Mai thinking of a boy, a redhead perhaps~"he teased, getting in my face. Blushing, I slapped his shoulder.
"A-am not!"I stuttered, turning my head around so he couldn't see my tomato face. He grabbed my chin and pulled it so I'm facing him again.
"Awww, but you're blushing, guess I was right~"he cooed, smirking wider as I blushed more cause apparently, that's possible.
"Get a room, kiddos!"the walking shark who happened to pass by yelled, making the blue eyed boy turn crimson too as I pushed his face away and glared at my old partner, my blush long gone.
"Shut it, Fishsticks!"I yelled back, stomping my way to my room to prepare.
Several days later
Somewhere near Suna"Alright, we are here, now what?!"I whisper-yelled, glaring at the boy that got us in this mess.
"Not my fault, how was I supposed to know that someone was here?!"he glared back, my red hair nearly brushing against the sand as we just hung there upside down, our hands literally tied.
"You're supposed to be a sensor type, damn it!"I growled, my head starting to hurt from all the blood rushing into it and from what it looks like, Ink-head had the same problem. Suddenly getting an idea, I started swinging side to side, occasionally slamming face first into his chest.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing, it's not the time nor the place!"he spoke, his cheeks dusted a light pink.
"Shut it Ashikaga, I'm trying to swing us high enough for the rope to rip"I mumbled, making his eyes widen before he started swinging with me. After a few minutes, the rope ripped and we fell with his back meeting the floor and me on top of him.
"Ughhhhhh"I groaned, just now realizing our hands and feet were tied together.
While this was going down
At the Kazekage tower
3rd POV"You are telling me that you caught 2 suspicious teens snooping around the village before they walked right into your trap. After tying them together, you left them without anyone keeping them in check to come and inform the Kazekage, did I get that correct?"the guy with face paint spoke, looking at the guard.
"Yes sir, you got everything right"the guard confirmed, making the only girl in the room sigh.
"You wanna tell me that you came to bother the Kazekage, who is already overwhelmed by the paperwork he keeps avoiding, with something as small as this?"she questioned, causing the guard to sweat nervously. The redhead who was silent until now stood up as the room fell silent.
