Ten
It was another morning of chaos, Mark had invited Haechan to come with us today and let's just say he was freaking out a little too much. Surprisingly, I actually tried to look decent though I still didn't really care that much. We got in the car and I was forced to sit in the back as Mark wanted to be with Haechan in the front. We quickly picked up Haechan and then were off to the carnival.
"Your hair is all messy Ten" Haechan pointed out.
"That's all right, I don't have anyone to look good for...." I trailed as I looked down at the message that was just sent to me.
'Hey, don't forget to stop by later. I saved you some cotton candy from the best batch :)'
I frantically began fixing my hair in the mirror, I guess I shouldn't really go out in public looking like a mess.
'I'll be there ;) hope it tastes as good as last time!'
I text back, I felt confident during text but in person I'm an explosion of shyness. Mark and Haechan really could careless if I stick with them or not so looking presentable is key if I don't want to sit alone on all the rides. The drive was, again, short and we thankfully made it there in one piece although I'm sure the mental damage is permanent. I race out of the car and make it to the entrance by myself. I'm ready to enjoy the day alone, maybe I could try and find another friend at the very least. I wish I could chill with Mr. Jack Frost but he'd obviously going to be working so that's impossible. After checking in and getting my wristband I head straight to the food stand from yesterday. As I'm standing in line I look for Jack Frost but am ultimately let down when I reach the front and don't see him in sight.
"Maybe he's just cleaning in the back" I reassure myself and wait for him.
A few minutes pass and no sign of him, I knew it was dumb to get my hopes up. He didn't mean anything to me anyway..
'Thanks for ditching me, if you didn't want to see me again you could of just said that instead of leaving me alone :('
There was hesitation but I ended up pressing send. Why should I feel bad for him ditching me, I should be angry and I am. There was a tap on my shoulder, I turned around and there he was, dressed in normal clothes and holding cotton candy in his hands. I smiled guiltily as he looked down at his phone and read the message.
"I thought you had stood me up, guess I should of just been more patient" I hung my head low.
"I did take quite long, sorry. I was changing out of my uniform because my shift had just ended. I should of texted you, anyway this is for you!" Taeyong brushes away the situation and brightly hands me the sugary delight.
I ate a small piece and groaned in delight, it was THE BEST cotton candy I've ever eaten, and I've had A LOT of it in my many years of coming here. I nodded my head and stuffed more into my mouth. It was really good, I wonder if he had made it himself.
"Is it alright if I join you? I haven't anything to do for the next few hours" Taeyong asks.
I nod my head and grab his wrist, pulling him towards a huge roller coaster I've been dying to go on. He didn't seem like such a fan but got in line with me anyway. We chatted about the little things, he said a really nice conversation takes his mind off the nerves so I kept the conversation going. I found out the cutest things, like how he has a HUGE Febreze addiction, said he sprays in everywhere, everyday. Taeyong also has the loudest little laugh and lights up a room, or at least my room, whoops?
We finally reached the front of the line and entered the cart, his face went pale as soon as we were strapped in. I gently patted his hand, "If you're scared you can hold my hand".
