Eye lids are so hard to open. Sigh. The light was bright coming through the window; the clock told me that it was almost twelve in the afternoon. Sliding out bed my body felt dumped. I was caught of guard by the mirror that sat on my dresser.
I took all the mirrors out my room or at least I thought I did. I hated looking at myself; there was nothing to stare at. I guess I’m scared of the girl that lies in the mirror.
I couldn’t recognize the eyes that stared back at me. Her eyes were dull and had a hint of hurt in them, the showed everything that I was afraid to face.
Mirror Mirror on the wall...
Mirror Mirror why am I not reflected as beautiful as I used to be.
The girl staring back at me was not who I usually see. It scared me the reflection told me everything I already know. I guess the mirror tells the truth and I’m not ready to face the fact that I have been giving up on myself.
Placing the mirror face down I noticed a note on my pillow.
Dear April,
I’m sorry about everything. It’s just not easy to explain, it’s complicated only you knew. I miss you I miss your smile I miss us. I miss my best friend. Didn’t wanna be here when you woke up I mean I do. I tucked you in like old times
Your Douche bag,
Xavier
He tucked me in? He was here last night? Staring at the wall, I remember that he was, and how it all happened so fast. Staring at the paper I traced over the letters with my index finger. He wrote so hard, the pen even shows were he crossed out a couple times. The thing that stood out is how he said he miss my smile.
Honestly I miss his smile to but I miss mine more.
The wipe of chocolate pancake’s hit me. Before I knew it my legs had been on the move. I was like a wild animal hunting down its prey. In my case I was the hungry teenager hunting down a stack of delicious chocolate pancakes.
My eyes almost popped out my socked when I saw in front of me a stack of seven delicious pancakes on a plate in front of me. My mouth begins to water and my stomach couldn’t take the teasing my eyes were doing to it.
“Good Morning sweet heart” mom voice was peachy, and soft which was not an everyday thing, but it was nothing new it was still early so it could change harsh and cruel any moment.
I honestly didn’t see her standing there with a cup of hot chocolate in her hand.
“Morning mom delicious pancake’s” I tried to say it smoothly without having to stop in between bites but it came out all chopped up together.
But I’m guessing she understood what I said because she smiled.
“April”!! Sophia voice yelled from across the room.
I turned fast because I heard her little steps coming up behind me. I turned at the right time because she jumped into my arms smiling. I kissed her all over her face and pretended as if I was going to eat her ear off. She was laughing so hard that it made me laugh. I didn’t want to stop but she was trying to wiggle out of my grip.
Placing her on the floor on her feet while she begin to catch her breath. I watched her as she turned around in her pretty little yellow dress. She had her hair up today and there was a big yellow bow in her hair. She looked like a little sunflower.
“Mommy helped me get dressed today…I wanted to be the sun and mommy said this is the closes, I’ll get.” She had the biggest smile on her face.
