Chapter 4:

Clara’s POV

The BGB class seems to be ok. Mr Clifford was really nice and doesn’t seem to be that boring. He had dyed his hair green.

Afterwards I go out and stand there. Like a while. Lost. Lost because I have no friends, no plans and much time. I look at my schedule. Shit, I have nearly an hour before my next lesson starts. What can I do? I should have made plans for something like this.

“Hey.”

My head snaps back. There she is again, the red haired girl and her two friends from earlier.

“Hi.” I smile nervously.

They smile back.

“I’m Jesy, this is my boyfriend Jordan and this is Zayn. We were about to go and drink a coffee, maybe you’d like to join us?”

Hmm… coffee…I don’t have to weigh the pros and cons.

“I’d loved to. Thanks. I’m Clara.” I say and we start walking towards the entrance.

While I was walking next to Jesy she’s asking me a lot of questions.

“Is this your first semester?”

“Yes.”

“Are you from America?”

“Yes from the south.”

“Wow this is pretty cool. Why did you move? I mean it’s America.”

I swallow thickly.

‘You can do this, girl.’

“I just needed a wall changing and my uncle life here, so it was a nice opportunity.”

“Ah.” She say with a smile.

‘Phenomenal, now I’ve had bored them to hell.’

We are going silently next to each other. Jesy and Jordan start to hold hands and do some couple stuff while Zayn seemed to sleepwalk through the corridors. What’s wrong with this kid? His skin nearly looks grey and his eyes are red and swollen.

‘And here we have another dumb ass crying because of nonsense. Why is this town full of soft babies? Clara, BE NICE! He is hurt and I’m pretty sure he’s a nice guy.’

“Zayn is everything alright?” I ask carefully.

He looks over to me with really sad puppy eyes.

‘Shit. He doesn’t want to speak about it. Now he hates me and is going to shout at me. Fuck.’

“No, but nobody can change this.” He says a little bit shaky.

“This sucks. The only that helps is screaming", I answer, maybe a bit too rough.

He looks at me with disbelief.

“Trust me. Try it. But please not now.”

I look around playfully.

‘Wow. I’m better than I thought. Is that even a smile on his lips? I’m not quite sure.’

“Ok. I’ll try it, I guess.” He shrugs and I smile politely.

After something like three minutes we arrive at a coffee shop. We enter through the doors with a ‘bing’ and order some coffee.

“Isn’t that Liam?” Jason faces two brown haired boys sitting at a table nearby.

“Yes. Should we join them?” Jesy seems to be irresolute.
