19// The hospital

//// TIME SKIP - 1 month later ////

Dani's POV

I coughed heavily as I opened my eyes and immedietly grimaced at the bright light. I shut my eyes and blinked a few times, which helped a little but I still had to adjust. Once they did I soon realized that I was in a hospital room. I groaned and looked around to find it empty, no one in sight. I looked down to see a large bandage wrapped around my abdomen, scratches up and down my arms, and brace around my left wrist.

I quickly found a red button attached to my hospital bed, waiting for a nurse to arrive. Confusion continues to run through me as the wait for a doctor or nurse or someone to tell me whats doing on. A few minutes later, a women with long black hair pushed up and back in the front, dressed in an all white nurses uniform, entered my room.

"Hi um miss....hargrove! Glad to see your finally awake." She spoke in a fake, cheerful tone while holding a clip board containing papers, I was assuming were about me. She stepped towards me and began checking the monitors and other medical equipment around me before speaking again.

"Now do you feel any pain in your abdomen, head, or any other part of your body?"

"No" I replied. My voice was horse and weak, you could hardly hear me.

"How long have I been here?" She looked at the cart before answering me.

"About a month. A docter will be in here shortly to discuss some things with you." She left and closed the door before I could reply. It had been what felt like an hour, but in reality was probably only about 10 minuets, before a doctor came in.

"Hello miss hargrove, how are you feeling?"

"Fine. What happened to me?"

"You were in a car accident with your brother." He spoke gently towards me and sent me a kind, apologetic smile.

"Oh..is he alright?"

"Yes, he's in the waiting room right now as a matter a fact, along with another 2 boys who had claimed to be friends of yours. Would you like me to send them here? Otherwise I would like to talk to you about a few factors that accrued as a result of the accident."

"Oh okay. I can talk to them later. Is there something wrong with me?"

"Well no but..." He began trailing off as he sat on the edge of my bed.

"What is it doctor?"

"You were aware you were pregnant, werent you?" I nodded my head and hung it, shamefully.

"I'm very sorry but, the baby didnt survive." My head immidietly shot up as my eyes widened in shock. I looked down at my lap, speechless. I know I wasnt prepared to be a mom, or if I would even keep them but, it was still my baby.

"Um.. C-can I see my frie-ends now?" I stuttered out at a lump began creeping up my throat.

"Sure sweetie, ill call them in." He rubbed my arm quickly in a comforting, friendly way, and walked out the door. I was glad he didn't judge me for be pregnant at such a younge age, it would have made that situation a lot harder if he had. I looked up towards the door when I heard it open to find that it was Steve and Jonathan.

"Hey Dani. You have no idea how good it is to see you." Steve gently smiled after speaking.

"Yeah, we really missed you, the boys and max too." Jonathan soon followed. It felt nice that he said that but, actions speak louder than words to me.

"So...where are they?"

"Oh well, uh w-we thought it would be best for them not to see you...you know, til you got better" I got quickly as a reply from Steve.

"Oh...okay. Smart I guess. One more question though, who was the third boy waiting for me? The doctor told me I had three boys in the waiting room for me."

"Lets not focus on that right now okay? Um your mom had to work but, she said to tell you she loves you when you woke up." Steve tried to recover as Jonathan walked closer to me.

"Hey listen, I gotta go and pick up will. My moms been really worried" he leaned down and hugged me before continuing.
"We'll catch up on everything when you get out, watch some marathons and eat junk all we want at my house with will okay?"

"Yeah okay" I sent a half smile, seeing as I was still in pain and I hadent gotten to see him much. He walked out the door after we pulled away and Steve dragged over a chair and sat next to my bed, holding my hand.

"You have no idea how,much I missed you" he kissed my hand gently and rubbed the back of it, just like billy does.

//// TIME SKIP - Three days later ////

Billy's POV

Its been more than a month since I last saw Dani and ive been losing it. I scream at almost everything, I dont know what's going on with me.

Since I was the one that was driving, my dad took my car away and in getting it back at the end of this week. Its bullshit, they're both assholes. What kinda mom doesn't drop work at least a little to come see her daughter at least once in the hospital? I just wanna see Dani, I can't wait any longer.

Dani's POV

I'm getting discharged today and I'm really excited to get out of here. Ever since I woke up, steves been by my side, rarely leaving me alone, constantly trying to make me laugh, and succeeding. Its been good having him here, although, I do wish other people visited me. I haven't seen my mother or max once. It mad me kinda sad that neither of them made the time to come see me.

As I was thinking about all this the door opened revealing Steve with a big smile on his face, a teddy bear and flowers in one hand, and a small pile of folded clothes in the other.

"Hey beautiful, since you getting out today I figured you would like some fresh clothes." I smiled at him and slowly climbed out of bed before making my way towards him. After he put down the flowers and bear on the table next to the bed, he handed me the clothes and I went to the bathroom to go change. He gave me a baggy, horizontally stripped black and white shirt, a pair of my highwaisted blue jeans, some plain black converse, and a baggy jacket.

I walked out of the bathroom and turned off the light. When I looked back up at Steve he was already looking at me, scanning my body up and down, then smiled a little.

"What is it?"I became extremely self conciense, and looked down to see if something was on me. I felt a wave of pain surge through me when I looked at my stomach, I'm still kind of grieving. I told Steve about it and he obviously wasnt happy but I think hes trying to put on a brave face for me.

"Hey, your beautiful okay? Its all gonna be okay" he lifted my head as he spoke, which startled me a little as I had been so lost in thought, I didn't even notice him standing right infront of me.

I looked in his eyes and began leading in, I needed him right now. He lent down and closed the gap between our lips, I closed my eyes and melted into his touch once he put his hand on my cheek. The kiss was gentle and comforting, but passionate. We pulled away from each other and he smiled at me, which I returned. He grabbed the gifts he brought for me on the table and then grabbed my hand and we walked out together. He had already gotten my mom to come here early this morning to give permission to sign me out, so we just headed out to his car. He parked near the front so we didnt have to walk far and he opened the door for me which, of course, made me blush as I climbed in. He slammed the door before climbing in the drivers side and starting the car. Steve drove away as I placed my hand on his thigh, to which he smiled to. It seemed to me that my feelings for Steve grew more and more everyday, and I didnt mind it.

Steve's POV

I continued to drive down to my house and took one hand off the steering wheel to hold Dani's hand. This girl was amazing, she made me smile at just thought of her. This accident had me thinking a lot when she was unconcience and..I think I'm in love with her.
