"You're first on the transplation list. The one before you passed away." My mum said as a tear fell down her cheek. I didn't know if I was suppose to be glad, or sad. Of course it's good that I'm closer of getting a new heart, but someone died, and what if I'm next?
"I understand if you're overwhelmed Lauren, it's big news." My mum said and came over to me. "But you're closer to surviving." She said and hugged me. "The doctors will call us when they have a heart avalible, so you need to have your phone around you as much as possible." My dad said.
I got up to my room, and called Becca. She asked about my meeting with Calum and I told her everything. I also told her about the heart. She said she'd take more care of me at school. I guess she was really scared. So was I.
The next person I called was Calum. "Hey what's up?" He said when he picked up the phone. "It's the heart, I'm first on the transplantion list.." I said nervously. "Oh Lauren that's good. It means you're closer to getting healthy again." He tried to comfort. "Yeah.. But I'm kinda scared." I said and laid down on my bed. "Hey, do you wanna come over? You can meet some of my friends." He asked. "Yeah that would be cool! I'll make my mum drive me, text me the address?" I said and got my mood up right away. "Yes! Can't wait." He said and hung up. This would could intresting.
I got dressed in a black pair of skinny jeans and a ripped tank top. I didn't want to get too overdressed, so I just let my hair hanging down. I putted on some mascara and went downstairs to ask if my mum could drive me.
In the car she asked me who I was going to. I told her and she started to tease me cause I was going to a boy. "My girl's growing up." She said proud. "It's nothing between us mum, he's just a friend." When we got to the house, she kissed me goodbye and told me to call when I was gonna get picked up. As she drove out from the driveaway, I waved at her.
I walked up to the door, and knocked it. 30 seconds after, a boy with brown hair opened. "You must be Lauren!" He said and dragged me in the door, before I even got the chance to say hi. "I'm Michael." He said as we walked trough the hallway, and into a big livingroom. "Hey guys.." I said nervously to the two boys sitting in the couch." One of them was Calum, but I didn't know the other one. "Lauren! Hi!" Calum said and jumped up from the coach. "These are my friends, Michael and Luke." He said "Guys, this is Lauren." Luke had a mix between blonde and brown hair, and he was pretty cute. "Hi Lauren." Luke smiled and came over to shake my hand. Classy. I shaked it back and introduced myself.
I sat next to Calum on the couch. They told me about their band. Or, they try to be a band. They were missing an drummer. "Do you happen to know any drummers?" Michael asked me and gave me puppy eyes. "Aw no sweetie I'm sorry.'' I said and petted his head. He laughed loud. These guys were alit of fun!
The next hour we talked about ourselves, and got better known. They also sang for me, and I gotta admid that they were good.
"Lauren, you gotta meet my girlfriend! You gonna like her!" Michael said and hooped up beside me. "What's her name?" I smiled at him. "Sophie, she's the sweetest. We've been dating for five months!" He said. I could see the happiness in his eyes, and the way he talked that he really liked her. I wish someone would ever talk like that about me. Sophie is a lucky girl, and I got to admit I'm kinda jealous of their relationship. But I'm not gonna judge her! Not before I met her, and got to know her. And maybe it would be good to meet new people. "Can you make her come over? I wanna say hi!" I told him. "Of course! Yay!" He said and smiled.
While Michael was calling Sophie, I went to sit next to Calum. "How are you feeling?" He asked and looked me into my eyes. "I'm good.. Thank you." I said and smiled to him. "Maybe it's good thinking about something else. And you look like you're having fun!" He said and laughed. "I am.. Thanks again." I said and hugged him. I think he got suprised by the hug, cause he jumped a little. But he put his arms around me and it felt right. "Love birds!" I heard Luke screaming from beside. I just laughed it away. Calum laughed to, so he luckily didn't take what Luke said seriously. That would be embarassing..
When Sophie arrived, Michael greeted her at the door. "Hey babe." I heard him say from the hallway. They came in the livingroom, holding hands. "Hi, I'm Sophie." She said and smiled at me. "I'm Lauren, nice to finally meet you! Michael talked so much about you." I teased him. She laughed and Michael blushed. They got seated in the coach right overfor me and Calum. "So.. Are you guys together?" Sophie said and looked at us. "Not yet." Calum said and gave me a cheeky smile. Heart beats faster now! Did he wanna be my boyfriend? Like.. Soon? I smiled at him. He was so cute.
Luke left home after some minutes, the boys said he's girlfriend Jade just got home from Spain and he wanted to see her. Then it was just me, Calum, Michael and Sophie left. "You guys wanna see a movie?" Calum said and got up and walked over to the TV." "I wanna see The Notebook!" Sophie said and hooped up on Michael's lap. "Cuddeling movie it is.. You okay with it Lauren?" He said and gave me the sweetest smile. "Perfectly fine." I said and smiled back.
When the movie started, Calum put his arm around my shoulder. That felt so good. Like there was nothing bad in the world, just so safe. I never wanted to leave his arms.
It was getting late and Sophie fell asleep on Michael's chest. They looked so cute together. I was leaning my head on Calum's shoulder, and he was stroking my hair. "What's the time?" I asked him and turned my head so I could look at him. "11am. I didn't know it was that late, do you want me to take you home?" He asked and smiled. "That would actually be good." I said and got up. He took my head and led me out the door.
When we were in the taxi we didn't really talk that much. We couldn't drive a car cause none of us is to old for that. But it wasen't an awkward silence, it was just good. It felt safe. "Wanna find something to do tomorrow too? Maybe we could go to the beach." He looked at me and smiled. "That would be perfect." I said and smiled back. He came closer to me and looked me in my eyes. His look were hot, and he was really attractive. "Lauren.. I really like you." He said and took my hand. Was he serious? This was the best moment of my life.
"I like you too Calum." I said and smiled bright. He bited his lips and looked at mine. He came closer and closer. And in the next moment our lips were touching eachother. Was this real life? It was amazing. I had butterflies in my whole body. When I pulled back I smiled to him. "You're so beautiful, Lauren." He said and smiled. "Can you kiss me again..." I said and looked in his eyes. He kissed me again, this time more passionate. God, it felt so great..
When we got to my house, he followed me to my door. "Goodnight Calum." I said and leaned against the door. "Goodnight Lauren." He said and kissed me one last time. "Remember our date tomorrow." He said and winked, before he walked back to the taxi. He turned around and smiled before he closed the door. He was the cutest.
When I got inside, I went straight to bed. I layed in my bed thinking about everything. Calum really made me forget everything bad in my life. I wanna spend more time with him, he makes me happy like nobody else does. He makes me smile, like nobody else can.

I woke up in the middle of the night. My chest was hurting, and I couldn't breathe. "Mum!" I yelled as loud as I could. I tried to hold my chest, but the pain didn't go away. My mum came storming in the room. "What's wrong hone- Roger call an ambulance, now!" She screamed and came over to me. "Hey babygirl it's gonna be okay keep breathing." She said and started to cry. She held me at her chest and I tried to breathe as good as I can, but it only hurted.
"Mum, I'm scared..."
