A girl is constantly locked up in her room. She can leave, but she chooses not to. No one knows why. School is all online. She'll talk on the phone, have people visit her, but not downstairs. They have to come up to her room. It's normal though too. Nothing suspicious or out of place.
The only people who do understand, are her parents. But they also won't say why. Because if they do, they'll end up in jail for keeping her hostage.
Again, she can leave. But what no one knows, is that she is being monitored when she leaves. Every move, everything she buys even with cash. Or even when she leaves town. God knows what will happen if she leaves town.
That's why her room is her best friend.
