You can change the names, of course, these names are really just to separate the characters.
They have known each other ever since they were 4 years old. But as they grew older they slowly pulled apart. They went to different colleges. Emily when to a smaller college because her family isn't rich enough to afford a huge one. And Adam was able to go to the more expensive college in the country because he grew up with a rich family.
Once college years are finished, Adam moves back with his family while Emily stayed with hers throughout college. At some point, they bump into each other and slowly catch up on what they missed throughout the years.
Adam has changed his appearance majorly, into jeans and loose shirts to only suits.
Emily stayed in her comfy sweatpants and tight tank tops.
As they became closer, Emily forces Adam to go shopping for other clothes than his suit outfits. Making him wear jeans, sweatpants and comfy shirts. Doing this brings them closer than ever. Maybe making them evolve into a couple.
