"I'm home!" Hoseok called out as he stepped into the apartment. He took off his jacket and left his shoes to the hallway. "Tae? I'm home!" he shouted and walked into the dark living room, finding his brother sitting on the floor.
"Tae, what are you doing?" Hoseok asked and looked at the man sitting on the floor. He was holding wires in his hands, and didn't seem to know what he was doing. On the other hand, he was Kim Taehyung who didn't know what happened most of the time.
"Oh hello, hyung, I'm trying to mount the television," Taehyung said, looking at the older one. Hoseok raised his eyebrows and looked at the TV, which was leaning against the wall, in disbelief.
"How can you even see anything? It's dark here," he said, referring to the living room as well as to the entire apartment. They had not been able to attach the lamps even though they had lived in the apartment for almost for a week.
"I use my cat-vision", Taehyung said on a serious tone and stared back into the wires.
"Okay, we've known over 11 years and I didn't know you were furry," Hoseok said jokingly and sat next to the younger man on the floor.
"Shut up," Taehyung laughed and poked her older. Hoseok giggled and kicked Taehyung to the side, causing this to fall crash on the floor.
"Didn't you start this before I left?" Hoseok asked, referring to the orange haired man's work. "I can't really see any progress."
"Shh, Hyung. The manual didn't tell you about installing a TV at home, so I looked it up from the net and learned that cannabis can cure bone fractures," Taehyung said.
"How is cannabis related to installing a television in any way?" Hoseok asked with a frown and took the TV manual on his hand.
"Not in any way! I do not know what I'm doing!" Taehyung exclaimed and fell on his back to the floor, wires still in his hands.
"There's literally a headline that says 'installing a TV at home'", Hoseok said pointing the manual's page. Taehyung stood up on his elbows and squinted to see the text.
"Well, I didn't see it. It's too dark in here," he said, and laid back on the floor. Hoseok sighed and turned his gaze out of the living room window. The sun had went down, and he didn't see anything in the room, except the silhouettes.
"We should probably unpack some of the boxes. Let's call the electrician tomorrow, so we'll get the lights to work," he said to the younger man who mumbled something. Hoseok pulled the closest box closer to himself and opened it. He did not see what was inside of the box because of the darkness, but when he put his hand there, it was full of pillows. He unpacked the contents of the box to the floor, lastly pulling out a little dog bed.
"Tae?"
"What?"
"Did you remember to take Yeontan with you?"
A couple of seconds was quiet. Then Taehyung rushed up faster than Hoseok knew he could.
"Oh shit,"Taehyung muttered and began to look for his phone. Hoseok didn't know if he was amused or worried. At the same time, he also began to question Taehyung's parents' decision to let them move out because they had not noticed that they had forgotten Taehyung's dog for a week.
"Mom, we forget Yeontan!" Taehyung almost cried to the phone, which he had found.
"I was wondering when you would notice it," her mother's tired voice said from the phone's speakers. Hoseok tried not to laugh out loud when Eomma-Kim complained to his son for this irresponsibility.
"Yeontan is here until you've have unboxed everything. I don't think you've got it done yet," Eomma-Kim said severely.
"But-" Taehyung tried to argue, but his mother had already hung up. Taehyung stood there, phone in his hand for a moment and sighed heavily. Hoseok knew that Taehyung argued with his mother more frequently, but didn't know why. Usually, they were very close.
