A Lovely Mission: Choji Meets Karui

A Mission in the Clouds

*Flashback*

"Is there a reason why I have been chosen?" Choji asked as he stood in the office of the Hokage. The great elemental nations were at peace, but greed and violence was overall human nature. Peace among the great nations would not completely end all the trouble in the world; not right away anyway. It was because of this fact that Choji was receiving a mission.

Lord Kakashi, the sixth hokage thought for a moment. It almost felt like he was ignoring the question all together. "Peace among the nations is not a sturdy bridge. It is a young tree that is not quite yet strong to stand on its own. If we leave it on its own the tree will fall. This tree requires watering and support from all of us, until it is strong enough to stand on its own." Wise words often came from the mouth of lord sixth. However, it was clear he had forgotten who he was talking to.

"...ok, and I have been chosen, because..." the calorie ninja asked with a puzzled look. Lord Sixth sighed, "By lending a hand to other nations, the leaf shows its willingness to not only maintain peace, but also help each other when the time calls." Choji finally nodded. Lord Sixth sighed once again, "There have been recent shinobi disappearances. Three shinobi from the Village hidden in the Clouds. We think they're being held captive by a dictator in a village, the Cloud had already been investigating. Your mission is to pose as a civilian along with one of the Cloud shinobi and try to locate them from within."

*Present*

Choji was almost to the location where he was meant to meet with the shinobi from the Cloud. He had already been thinking of different ways they could pose within the village. They could be brothers trying to get a fresh start in their restaurant business, or two buddies who just happened to wonder into the village after going hunting. The ideas were decent, but were immediately thrown out when he met the female shinobi. "My name is Choji... Akimichi... from the Leaf..." She seemed upset. Choji had seen Ino and Sakura upset plenty of times. Pretty girls had a way staying cute even when they were frowning and this girl was definitely cute. "Well, Akimichi from the Leaf, my name is Karui. I'm from the Cloud."
