READ AUTHOR'S NOTE!
So, I've finally updated :D I've been editing my werewolf story called The Alpha & His Nerd, it has quite a few chapters so it took quite a long time :P I've also been looking for a job, so damn hard!!!
I've decided I want a set deadline to upload a chapter. Should it be each week? Once every two weeks? Let me know in the comment section :)
Anyways, thanks for supporting me so far, I'm super duper grateful ;)
If you like the chapter, VOTE and let me know what you liked about it. Hope you listen to the song on the side and look at the meme I added (So funny!). You'll understand after you've read the chapter :P
ENJOY!
Chapter 3:
“Uh...Haha! Kyle’s so funny.” I laughed hysterically, slapping Kyle on the shoulder. Hard. “He meant that it was amazing for ME ALONE. He was such a gentlemen that he slept on the sofa.” I said quickly, covering up Kyle’s sly jab.
Instead of slapping Kyle, I should've stabbed a spoon into his face. Twice for good measure.
“Really? I remem-” Kyle started, a devious glint in his eye.
“-ber waking up on the floor because you rolled off in the night. So sad, he really injured his shoulder. I massaged it for him too, I felt like it was my fault he ended up face planting the floor in his sleep.” I improvised speedily. I held an apologetic smile, secretly kicking Kyle’s foot with mine.
“Ahh!” Kyle yelled, reaching down to his ankle.
“Kyle, are you okay?” Ben asked worriedly, handing his daughter, Claire, to his wife, Laura. “Is your shoulder still hurting? I’m a doctor so I can check what the damage is.” He stood up from his seat, ready to cross the room and discover my lies.
“No, that’s not necessary!” I shouted urgently, then lowered my voice, hoping they didn’t notice my panicked expression. “I mean…he’s fine, I checked already, there’s no bruising or anything. It was just a little bump, there’s no need to stop your eating for something so small. Right Kyle?” I smiled, glancing at Kyle. I nudged my shoulder into his arm softly, a seemingly friendly gesture.
Kyle glared at me ferociously, his hand gripping my thigh tightly under the table, getting revenge for the earlier kick. I clenched my hands under the table, a substitute for screaming. Loosening his grasp on me, he then faced everyone around the table, flashing the most adorable smile I had ever seen. “Yeah, I’m totally fine. This morning’s fall was really no big deal. I’m so large that I used to always fall from my bed, until I bought a king sized one. After that, my sleeping schedule was pretty awesome.” He ruffled my hair adoringly, strengthening his facade. “As long as this little Squirt had a nice sleep, I’m happy.”
“Oh, is Ally and Kylie Bear husband and wife? Kylie Bear, have you kissed Ally before?” Claire’s sweet voice asked innocently as she sat on her mother’s lap. I gagged from the sudden absurd question then giggled softly, Kylie Bear, that’s a good one. But no, not married. I’d rather eat rat poop for the next 10 years.
Everyone gaped at her, their mouths hanging open. Claire’s parent’s laughed awkwardly, Ben gently clarified “No honey, they’re not married. They’re just friends.”
We’re not even that, we’re strangers sharing the same room.
A lion and a deer…I’m the deer in this case.
