LOVE IS BLIND:
~
CHAPTER SIX.
★----- Charlotte’s POV -----★
Having lost one of your sensory organs, they say your other four senses get heightened drastically. I couldn’t agree more… Because as soon as I woke up, the first thing I felt was the bed I was sleeping on, not mine at all. I always preferred using butt load of those fabric softeners, Niall always joked about how it felt like sleeping on a cloud. I rubbed my fingers against them, rough and crisp. The next was the unmistakable scent of sanitizers and anti-septic solutions; I have grown accustomed to this same pungent odor since I was around five, those rides to the hospital still a dark memory in my mind.
I shuddered at the thought of being there again and my fingers found themselves at my eyes. Weird. No bandages… but then why the hell am I here? This is undoubtedly a hospital bed I am lying down on at the moment and I can feel the dizziness of painkillers they always gave me too.
I sat up feeling heavy headed, pain surging through me, and I couldn’t get grasp of the core to this pain, my mind all over the place and this throbbing headache as if I’d just drank 10 gallons of the strongest vodka ever. As far as I remember, I didn’t get pissed drunk, not really a frequent thing I do either, and that’s when I hear the screech of a chair moving and heavy hands on my shoulders pushing me down.
I immediately put up a fight, pushing the hands away desperately as I was taught in the self-defense class I had to take as a part of eye therapy, “No! Leave me-”
“Relax Charlotte, It’s me, Louis!” I heard a high pitched voice, and where had I heard that name before? “I don’t really think we have ever officially met, I am Louis Tomlinson. Em… A-Angelica’s friend.”
“What-” I was honestly surprised at the rough voice I emitted and realized just how dry my throat was. My throat was parched to no limits, as if I was left to dehydrate in the Sahara desert itself. “Water…” I croaked out and immediately heard the relaxing sound of water being poured in a contained and a straw was poking my lip, I gratefully opened my mouth taking in a desperate sip and groaning in relief.
I took the cup which felt like plastic in my grasp and sipped it all down in another go. “Aah… so our brave angel is awake! How’s your leg feel?” I heard an old, gentle and motherly voice from the other end of my bed, making me strain my ears to recognize it.
“I am your assigned doctor Miss Horan, Dr. Lopez.” I smiled a little courteously and went back to my drink but she took it as a sign to continue “Angelica is sleeping in the waiting room. Louis, would you be a darling and wake that poor girl up? She has been so restless that we had to give her some relaxation meds to keep her down for a while.”
I heard the chair screech on which I presumed Louis was sitting earlier and that’s when I snapped, “Wait, I have hurt my legs?”
“Oh yeah, love. You had a nasty fall, don’t you remember? Angelica told me she found you beside this shattered window in your dorm-room, your legs covered in blood and tiny shards of glass.” I tried thinking back to that and my head hurt from the overwhelming memory of my fight with Emma. All these unanswered questions were swarming my head and all I could do was wince and the sudden pain in the back of my skull.
