Shayne
The elevator opened up to the 15th floor.
I immediately walked out and went into the waiting room to see Tavi’s mom, Rasia, Chris and two other ladies.
Everyone had their heads down except for Chris who was holding Rasia.
When he spotted me he quickly stood up and pulled me out of the waiting room.
“What the fuck dawg?” I asked confused at the whole situation.
I knew my dad was going to get someone to take out Micheal but I didn’t think he would get someone to do it the next day.
And most importantly I didn’t think they would hurt Tavi.
“We haven’t heard from the Doctors yet” Chris informed me.
I sighed. “How does Tavi know this nigga?”
“He’s her dad, man” Chris shook his head. “Rasia was telling me when we were on our way here”
“Damn” I mumbled.
I looked in the waiting area and saw Tavi’s mom staring at me.
I walked pass Chris and walked in as she stood up.
“I hope she’s a’ight” I told her.
She stood there looking at me. “Can I talk to you in private?”
I looked around and saw everyone looking at us.
I already knew what she wanted to talk to me about and I understood.
I nodded my head and we stepped out the waiting area and walked towards the elevators.
“Look I don’t know you” She started. “But you are a grown man and you do not need to be doing little kid things”
I nodded my head. “I know, but—“
“I’m not done.” She cut me off. “I have watched my daughter cry her eyes out because she felt like she failed herself and her daughter. It would’ve helped if you would have just been open to the situation. You didn’t have to believe that it was your child but at least been there until the child was born and then get a DNA test. I believe my daughter when she says that you’re the father because she wouldn’t pin such a big responsibility on an innocent person. If my daughter or my granddaughter doesn’t make it I hope you live with the guilt for the rest of your life.”
She looked me up and down and walked back to the waiting room.
So much for talking. I thought to myself.
I understood where she was coming from because she was scared that she would get some bad news and I don’t blame her.
