CH 7. a ring

*time skip to the day before they go to the trip*
"Nagito, did you give them a note that said that you would be gone for three weeks?"
He nodded.
"By the way, how are we gonna get there?"
He asked, tilting his head.
"By plane."
"What?! No way!"
He backed up.
"Huh? But you just packed and—"
He curled into a ball.
"No no no no no no no no no no no!"
"Why?"
"Because..."
He looked away. "I-I had a bad experience with a plane trip once..."
"D-Do you mind if I ask how?"
I said, sitting next to him.
"I-I was on a t-trip with my dad... my m-mom didn't come because she was s-sick, there was a-a hijacker o-on the plan... but a small meteor hit the plan, killing the hijacker of course, b-but a-also killed my—"
I held him in my arms.
"Don't worry, just tell me whenever your scared when we go okay?"
He nodded, he was crying... I rubbed his hair...
"Maybe when we get back, we'll go on a train... okay?"
He nodded.
'He probably had a rough childhood when he was younger... Hajime, you can fix these wounds...'
I grab his hand, looking around it.
"H-Hey... what are you doing?"
"So you weren't eating before?"
He jumped.
"I-I was!"
I grabbed his arm.
"Look! I can barely see your bones!"
"B-Be quiet!"
His face was red and tearful, he looked pretty stupid.
"PFFFT!"
"You douche bag!"
He threw a pillow and me.
"Oh You little bitch."
I grab the pillow, hitting him with it.
"UWAHHHH!"

It was the day we were gonna go, we were at the airport. Nagito was panicking.
"Nagito, you'll be fine."
"Nnn..!"
"Nagito..."
I got up.
"Come on, let's go look at the shops since the plane isn't here till 11:20."
It was 10:00, he smiled, getting up. We looked around, he saw a small little gadget shop. He got something, he smiled and handed it out to me.
"What's this?"
I take it from his hand, he smiles brightly.
"It's for you! I saw it and it reminded me of you..!"
It was a small gadget, it was a cute little cat. It was a calico cat, and it was smiling.
"How does it look like me?"
I questioned.
"Well, it reminded me because you prefer cats more than dogs, and when you click that button." He pointed, clicking it. "It smiles, like you, when you smile in the face of despair!"
He smiled and blushed.
"A-And it's cute." He mumbled.
"Thank you..."
"No problem!"
He smiled, I put it on my backpack.
"Let's go see more."
Nagito when to a small shop nearby, I went to a small jewelry shop. There was a ring, I picked it up. It was a small lucky clover, it looked really pretty. I brought it. And walked out and stood waiting for Nagito.
"Hi! I'm back, sorry for taking so long..."
He smiled, I handed him a small box.
"Uhh? What's this?"
"Open it."
He grabbed the box, opening it.
"I-Is this like a engagement ring?"
"N-No! I-It just reminded me of you..."
"Where do you want me to put it?"
"Y-You can put it wherever you want..."
He placed it on his ring finger, on his right.
"Thank you!"
He smiled.
*time skip*
We were on the plane, we hadn't gotten off yet, I sat next to Nagito.
"You okay?"
He nodded. "We haven't even left yet, but I'll tell you when I'm scared."
"Okay."
I grabbed my backpack, looking at the charm.
'I guess this is me... heh... it's cute, like me huh?'
I take a glance of him, he's holding dearly to his ring.
*time skip*
I woke up from nap, I look at Nagito.
'He's scared..?'
He was looking at the window.
"Nagito?"
He looks at me.
"You okay?"
He shakes his head.
"W-What's wrong?"
He gets close, whispering.
"C-Can you hold my h-hand?"
He blushed, I smile. I grab his hand, he smiles.
"You'll be okay..."
"T-Thank you..."
I looked over, his eyes are closed.
'Heh... so cute.'
*time skip*
"Hajime!"
I felt someone shaking me, I opened my eyes.
"H-Huh?"
"Let's go..!"
Did we already stop? I got up, grabbing my stuff. We got to the airport, I saw Makoto and Kyoko. I ran to them.
"Hajime!"
"Ah! Hajime!"
They hugged me, I turned around.
'Shittttt... where did Nagito go?!'
"Huh? What's wrong?"
Kyoko asked.
"N-Nothing... I'll be back."
I said, putting my stuff with them.
'Shit I need to find Nagito...'
I walked around, I saw a shop that Nagito was in. I ran in, grabbing his arm.
"Nagito! Don't run off like that..."
"S-Sorry..."
I look at what he was holding. It was a small plush that was a wolf, it had white fur and like greenish grayish eyes like Nagito.
"What's that?"
"I-I bought this for you! I-It sort of looked like me, s-so..."
He gave it out to me.
"T-Thanks... But let's get back..."
"Okay!"
He smiled, I brought him back to Makoto and Kyoko.
"Woah, so is this your boyfriend?"
Kyoko teased, making us brighter than a tomato.
"N-No! W-We're friends!"
I exclaimed.
"O-Oh, okay..."
Kyoko said, upsettingly.
"Guys let's go."
