The soft tones of Lana del Rey's Cherry filled the booth as V waited for her next caller. She slid her fingers across the cool switchboard and pressed the button to accept the call, 12:12 am on the dot, no doubt it'd be him.

“Hello and thanks for calling Radio Hoe, who am I speaking to?” she greeted politely, already knowing who it was.

“Hey it’s JB again," he spoke, his voice lacking its typical arrogance but maintaining the raspiness she loved to hear.

“Oh, and how are you tonight JB?”

“Better now that I can hear your sexy voice.”

She rolled her eyes at that, the arrogance had reared its head but still, that voice did things to her. If only she had a face to match the voice....

“I'm glad, what can I do for you love?”

“Well I've been thinking- Radio Hoe is quite a mouthful, and V is impersonal; what can I call you?”

Oh so he was getting straight to the point tonight.

That had been their little game for the past few weeks. Finding out her identity had become something of great importance to him. Unfortunately for him, keeping it hidden was of great importance to her.

“Gertrude,” she teased, smirking and fiddling with the rosary in her hands.

“That'd have been a bit too easy huh?” JB asked, chuckling.

“Yea…. Honestly I'm a little disappointed sweetie, you're usually much better at this game.”

“Lemme make it up to you?” he asked with a hidden promise lingering in his tone.

“Hmmm…. One try won't hurt. What's the question?”

“What's your favourite piece of poetry at the moment?”

“Poetry huh…. I don't know, I guess Fantastic Breasts and Where to Find Them by Brenna Twohy?”

“Interesting title and kinda takes care of my future question. What do you like about it?”

“At this rate I'm gonna need to start charging per question JB," she teased, smirking lightly.

“Come on, you can't leave a guy hanging. I'm intrigued," he chuckled.

“Okay,” V smiled warmly. “I'm a fan of it because it's a social commentary on women's sexuality. How we exist beyond our sexuality, more so beyond what men expect of us. That we aren't just objects. You should give it a read," she suggested with a shrug.

“How about you come on over and read it to me while I show you just how much I respect women's bodies?”

“Respect huh?”

“Yea I'd treat your body like a temple and worship inside you.”

“Does that pick up line typically work?” V asked with a small scoff, now confronted with the fact that JB was definitely a fuckboy.

“My charm’s lost over the phone.” JB argued.

“Yea well, let's hope you find it before tomorrow night, I have to take another call.”

“Ah got it, I'll be back tomorrow.”

“I don't doubt you will,” V smirked, hanging up to take the next call.

She continued with her night, interacting, reading articles and playing music before announcing she'd be taking her final call.

It was a freshman girl who was torn between a frat boy and a hipster from her Literature class.

“Actually K, they both sound like dicks. Frat boy just wants to string you along and get his dick wet, but hipster dude is a condescending prick who's going to judge you.” V reasoned based on the information she was given.

“I know I know, that's why I called. What should I do?” K asked, a desperate whine leaving her lips.

“Hmmm….." V mused. "Do you wanna bang the frat boy?”

“Of course I do, he's so hot.” she sighed with a tinge of wonder.

“And the hipster?”

“Yes, hence the dilemma.”

“The way I see it, neither of them are boyfriend material so enjoy it while you can, bang them both. You owe them nothing, but let them know up front that for now all you want is something sexual. If feelings develop then they do. You're just a freshman, you should be enjoying college. Not rushing to settle down.”

“That's great advice. Thanks.”

“No problem love, that's what I'm here for. And that's all the time we have for tonight guys. I'll be back tomorrow night at the same time. Stay sexy," she finished with her usual saccharine tone before removing her headphones and switching off the mic.

"That was a great segment!" River, her producer announced as soon as she opened the booth door.

"You think so?"

"Oh definitely, I'm starving by the way. We should get food," he suggested.

"You think? I have class early tomorrow."

"You still need to eat," he shrugged.

"Okay but we can't stay out too late," V sighed, conceding.
