Two days had passed since the jellyfish incident and things were relatively back to normal. Viola whined as Jordan moved her aside to answer his ringing phone. She cracked an eye open so she could glare but found her disdain replaced by a tinge of arousal when she heard just how much deeper his voice was when tainted by sleep.

"You're where?" He groaned. "No it's not a problem, just sit tight and I'll be there soon."

"What's going on?" Viola yawned.

"Chris is at the airport, I have to go pick him up," Jordan replied climbing out of bed.

Viola checked her phone, it was a little after midnight and the closer of the island's two airports was around an hour away.

"It's late Jordan, are you gonna drive there now?"

"Yea," he nodded. "I told him to call me if he needed me, he wouldn't fly here from Barbados if he was okay."

Viola had to admit, she admired how far he was willing to go for his friend.

"Need some company?" She asked, looking up at him with a sleepy smile.

"No it's fine. You just get some sleep," Jordan smiled before bending over to kiss her. "Be back soon."

Viola woke up early the next morning to an empty bed, it was around six am, Jordan should have been back already. Reluctantly, she climbed out of bed and walked to the staircase before covering her mouth to suppress a giggle. Jordan and Chris were sprawled out on the sectional sofa, spooning. They looked so ridiculous cramped into the space. It was obviously too small for them.

She padded quietly down the stairs and snapped a picture of the scene before throwing a blanket over them. She supposed she'd enjoy having the bed to herself for the rest of the morning.

And she did until she was awoken by kisses peppering her face.

"Jordan," she whined. "Knock it off."

"Wake up.... Max wants to say hi."

"Max?" Viola asked, her eyes snapping open.

"Mom picked him up from the vet this morning. Isn't that great?"

"It's so great," she smiled happily.

She knew the bond Jordan had with his dog and she somewhat blamed herself for the incident.

"Viola?" Chris gaped when he saw her walk down the stairs.

"Hey," she smiled waving a bit before walking over and kissing Max's head as he lounged on Chris' lap, she took extra care to avoid aggravating his bandaged midsection.

"I knew you liked her," Chris grinned looking at Jordan. "Despite that lecture you gave about the systematic cycle of abuse being continued every time a girl is told that when a guy is mean he likes her."

"Yet you can't remember when I ask you to take out the trash," Jordan scoffed rolling his eyes.

"I'm easily distracted," Chris shrugged, still petting Max.

"Yea that you are. But yes, I like Viola," Jordan scoffed.

"First of all let me apologise for being so mean to you if I was ever, and for crashing your vacation."
