Nathan put me on the bed carefully and this time he wore his protective gear.
"You ready?"
I nodded.
The lights of the the lab were turned off and the big screen projector was turned on.
"Alright there are twenty pictures, All you have to do is tell me what you see. You must tell me everything you think and feel."
"I know," I groaned.
The first part of the tests was always boring. All they ever showed me were pictures of nature and animals. When we were approaching to the last slide, Nathan interrupted my examination, "You know, I don't think what they're doing to you is fair."
I ignored his comment and proceeded. The last picture was of two deer. I figured it was a doe and her offspring.
"So what do you see?" he asked.
"The same thing you do. Nature exposing its true kindness to the world. It's a way of telling people that men and nature are on the same level, we're all one when connected to our family roots."
"Really? Because all I see is are deer waiting to be killed by predators or hunted by men."
I shook my head and the lights were turned on again. Nathan started writing on his clipboard once more.
"I have to go to the bathroom," I finally blurted.
"Really? Right now? You aren't scheduled to use the bathroom until another hour," he whined.
"I really have to go, I feel it."
He sighed and pressed the alert button to warn security I was going to be let put off from the secured metals holding me down. The five men from the morning came in again and started the operation to put up the mechanical pathways to the bathroom. This was such a drag, especially because everytime I had an emergency I would be forced to wait ten minutes until they put up those damn pathways. When they were finally done, they rolled me towards the entry of the pathway. Nathan came and detached the metals from my arms, legs, and waist. I wiggled my arms and legs free. He then rolled my fluids that were connected to my veins towards me. I had no idea what those liquids were, but according to Dr.Scheiner, they helped me remain conscious and minimized the effects of my powers.
"You know, after waiting for ten minutes I don't feel like going anymore," I say jokingly.
"Wha- "
"But because it was such a trouble, I'll go just for you." I smiled.
"Gee, thanks I'm honored," he smirked.
I stepped inside the pathway and he closed the door. As I walked towards the bathroom, I grabbed the pair of gloves I had to use. The first day I arrived at Life Incorporation they had promised me that they would never put cameras in the bathroom because I deserved some privacy. But, I bet they lied. I bet there were hidden cameras in the trash can or somewhere near the toilet. I put on the gloves and entered the bathroom. I sit on the toilet and wait for something.
Nothing.
Eventually, I realize I don't have to go anymore so I just move towards the sink and look in the mirror.
I had almost forgotten how I looked like. For a sixteen year old, I looked pretty much worn out. Dark circles had engraved themselves under my eyes like black holes, sucking out all of my energy. My icy blue eyes no longer glistened and shined, and now appeared to be more of a grey tone. I tilted my neck and my fingers skimmed for my birthmark. It was still there. I don't know why I always get surprised.
