Astrid Foley came from a long line of explorers, ones that discovered magical creatures and studied their habitats. The name Foley was well known in Wizarding Britain, people remembering Aaron and Hester Foley who ran away to Romania to start a Dragon Sanctuary during the Rise of Grindelwald. From young ages the Foley line had demonstrated a love and understanding of Creatures. That was why Astrid and her parents lived in the Sanctuary they had created, to study the creatures in their own habitat.
Astrid too demonstrated a love of creatures. The girl grew up with her unusual pets, forming a bond with the most unlikely of creatures. One thing the girl enjoyed was drawing Dragons, the walls of her bedroom were covered in her drawings of who'd she consider, her best friends.
But Astrid seemed to be different, the Dragons of the Sanctuary were attached to her earning her the title 'The mother of Dragons.' Leaving many workers of the Sanctum wondering how they would cope without her when she went off to Hogwarts in a week.
Astrid knew in a few years she would have to rise up and become Head of the Sanctuary but she had plenty of time until then. And what is life without a little bit of mischief?
