August 17th arrived in Siarao city as the red sky above it revealed a glimpse of the morning sun. Men and women prepared to head to work by catching the early morning buses, the early morning trains or taking their own vehicles. Kids and teenagers were rushing out of their houses and rooms to go out and enjoy their summer vacation... Well, that's what was supposed to be happening. In reality, with the red sky darkening up the city, most kids and teenagers remained inside their homes waiting for the weather lady to report that the sky was going to change back to normal color. "In today's weather report. The mysterious red sky syndrome continues as Siarao city enters yet another day, of summer." But she didn't. The people of the city had hope though. They believed the sky would change back soon and summer vacation would return in full capacity. But they had no idea what was about to befall them. Instead of a happy summer, the next few days would be a nightmare come to life...
Chapter Nine: The Day Of Darkos Arrives! This is all my fault!
In the Arake household. The Animal Warriors were all seperated. Each of them were in their own bedrooms and hadn't said anything to each other since returning from their mission as failures. Caline, Aasaa was laying on his red and yellow striped bed. He looked like he hadn't slept at all the previous night. His eyes were surrounded by black shade and he had a frown in place of his smile. The depressed boy looked at the ceiling of his room. There were four lights hanging over his bedroom. He had counted each of them over and over again. There was nothing he could do. He couldn't gather all the keys, because two of them had been destroyed. He couldn't tell everyone that everything was going to be ok, because he didn't know if they would. He blinked slowly and turned his body to lay sideways on his duvet "I failed.." he thought to himself, as he closed his eyes and just drifted away from his life.
"This is Ruth Amai with the lunch time report." Crystal lay on her pink duvet watching the news from her tv. The sound of the current time, made her soul die a little. Darkos and Zelie were going to come back and they were going to cause chaos and destruction, but without the keys... there's nothing any of them could do. "It seems the red sky is here to stay as scientists are still baffled at the change in climate. Some believe it may be due to a problem with the sun. Others believe that it may be due to a sudden change in the earth's atmosphere. We have no idea what caused this change and why it's happened." Blip! Crystal turned off the tv with a flip of her left thumb on the remote. She tossed the remote onto her beige carpet and rolled back onto her white pillows. Her hands were sat on her stomach as she looked at the ceiling "We failed..." She thought to herself.
Seline and Sakura were sitting in Seline's room in silence. She was on her purple duvet looking at the ceiling of her room, while Sakura is slouched across the spare bed's pink duvet, looking at the fluff in the carpet. "All we can do.. is wait.." She moped. "There's nothing we can do anymore..." Seline heard Sakura's words, but she didn't have the energy to respond to her. Instead, she rolled over onto her pink pillows and closed her eyes. Sakura started looking at the ceiling "I've failed my ancestors..." She thought. "I was supposed to find the keys and stop him from being released! But he was already here!! I've failed. Everyone's going to die... And it's all my fault!". Seline sighed, her eyes opened up a little and then closed again "We failed.." She thought.
Daisuke Inuyama was laying on top of his girlfriend Leena's white duvet as he thought about the recent revelation. Leena was sitting across the bed, next to him. Her legs were resting next to his and her head was slumped on his left shoulder "Feeling any better?" She asked. Daisuke felt the sound of Leena's voice, shoot through his shoulder and up to his ears " No." he flatly replied. Seeing him in this state, upset Leena. Daisuke was always cheerful and always trying to make one or another. He'd never just shut down like this before, it worried her. "Dai.. It's not your fault. There was nothing you could do. No one can do anything." She tried to reassure him. Tears streamed down Daisuke's face and dripped onto Leena's blonde hair, She looked up to see that he was crying. He looked down at her with his tear filled eyes and sobbed "I couldn't do anything... Cuh! And now.... I'm gonna lose you too!!"He cried out in tears as his head dropped into Leena's arms. She held the crying boy close to her chest and rested her left hand on his hair. " I don't care about that!!" Now she was crying.
