{A/N: The prompt was - 'A fic where the reader goes on a date with Owen, and it goes a lot better than his date with Claire. The reader works with Claire'. Hope this is what you wanted! I am considering doing a part 2 for it, let me know if you want it!}

There was a knock on my door. I quickly slipped my heels on and ran my hands over my navy-blue dress. Tonight, was the night, after all these years at Jurassic World, that Owen Grady finally asked me out on a date.

I quickly fixed my hair in the mirror hung in the hallway. I smiled brightly as I greeted Owen at the door. He looked gorgeous as always, making my stomach feel funny.

"(Y/N), you look beautiful! Wow, I feel really underdressed now." Owen blushed, looking at the ground.

I chuckled noticing his board shorts. Of course, he would wear them to your date as well. You remember when Claire would not stop going on about them, when he wore them on a date with her, a couple of months ago. She did warn you that he would wear them, all in good jest though. She was trying to calm your nerves, when you were talking about it in her office yesterday.

"Here, come in for a sec. I rather us both be underdressed." I winked at Owen, as I let him in my apartment. I squeezed his hand, leading him to sit on the couch. "Stay here, I'll be out asap"

"No, (Y/N), you don't have to change, this is my fault, you look amazing" Owen eyed me up and down, turning my cheeks a pale pink.

I scoffed and ignored him, walking into my room, letting the door shut softly behind me. I changed into a summer dress and pumps, seemingly less overdressed. I would do anything for this date with Owen to go well, so getting changed was not a problem at all.

I quickly apply a red lipstick to match the dress and walk back out to the lounge to gauge Owen's reaction of this outfit.

"Red, it suits your (h/c) hair" Owen smirked at you. "You look amazing in this dress as well (Y/N)" Owen moves closer to me, pulling me into his arms, just holding me. I was shocked at the sudden contact with him, but it felt nice.

"Thank you. So, do you always wear board shorts on dates?" I chuckle, grabbing my purse and leading Owen to the door.

"Yes. It's Central America, It's hot!" Owen defends himself.

"Hey, I live here, I know that. Why do you think I wear dresses and skirts all the time?" I place my hand on Owen's shoulder gently, feeling how tense he is. "Hey, I'm not Claire, stand down Mr Grady" I whisper in his ear, before leaning back and winking at him.

"I know you are not Claire, unless, wait, do you have an itinerary for this date?" Owen turned to me with an eyebrow raised.

I laughed, leaning into him. "I was hoping we could just see where the night takes us. Plus, maybe you could tell me more about your raptors. I hate never being able to get out of the office"

Owen put his arm around me, walking towards Margaritaville and Sunrio. As we walked into a restaurant, Owen smiled at the waitress, who led us over to a table. A part of me was jealous at the way she looked at him. With longing.

There were rumours that he was a player and was working his way through the island, but I had hoped they were nothing more than that. What if I was just another one that he wanted to bed with? Another prize for him to add to his growing list.

"(Y/N), hey, are you okay? What's wrong?" He fussed, reaching out to take my hand, gaining my attention.

"Sorry, what did you say? I was totally out of it for a moment there." I forced a smile at him, hoping that he wouldn't realise how fake it is.
