1st days

I woke up be strangled by my hair, filled with little snow flakes. I looked at the clock, 7:23 i still have 7 minutes till i have to get up, 7 whole wonderful minutes . I snugged back in my blanket as the snow flakes fell gently around me.

The 7 glorious minutes past and then right in my ear i heard my alarm clock go off,

"MEEEAH MEEEAH MEEEAH"

"AHHH" i yelled and the candle in the room went up in flames.

"whoops" i whispered and ran to the sink and filled a cup with water to put out the candle.

I was so excited for my 1st day here, i felt so welcomed, like i finally belonged.

Being very new, i had a small room to myself just to get to know the place, and then I'll move into the main quarters.

I ran a brush through my hair, parted it just the way i liked with the right side barely covering my right eye. I brushed my teeth, and flossed.

I looked in the dresser and saw some jeans, t-shirts, sweaters, and whatnot. Its kinda creepy how that mind reader know what size i am. I pulled on some jeans, a baggy sweater, and my raggedy worn out black high top converse that i've had for years.

I scanned myself in the mirror and simply nodded.

I walked out and walked around till i found the dinning area. I still have no idea were everything is. There was a breakfast of eggs, toast, and tea. I got my share and found a seat.

About mid-breakfast a girl came up to me, about my age with brown shoulder length hair. She was dressed in flats, skinny jeans, a black shirt and a purple leather jacket.

"Hi! I'm Katherine Pryde, you can call me kitty. I hear your new here, welcome!" She said brightly

"Thanks, I-I'm Ruby" i stuttered out shyly.

"Can i sit?" She asked gesturing to the open seat next to mine.

"Of corse!" I said with glee.

"How are you fitting in?" She asked very kindly.

"Well your the only student i have meet so..." I trailed off

"I've only been here a semester, i know how you are feeling right now. After breakfast, I'll take you to the Professor and get you schedule. Hopefully we'll have some classes together" Kitty said smiling.

"Thank you, thats very kind of you. So whats you power?" I asked very curiously.

At that moment she sank into the floor and disappeared, then she rose back up next to a chair. I stared blankly.

"Incredible!! What are you some sort of phantom?" I questioned

"No, I can just walk through walls. Whats your power?" Kitty wondered

"I dont think i can show you, i cant control them yet, i dont want to light the place on fire." i replied.

"So you control fire? Theres another kid here that can do that."

"and--" I very simply turned her tea into ice, along with a foot around it.

"Whoops, see not so good with it"

"Wow!! Two powers, cool! Oh, thats alright, when i first came here i could hardly walk 5 feet without sinking into the ground, you'll get it" She said sweetly.

I smiled still shy, but i enjoyed her company.

After breakfast, we went to the Professor's office.

"Kitty, Ruby how do you do? What can i help you with?" The professor asked wheeling out from his desk in his wheel chair.

"Were here for Ruby schedule." Kitty stated.

"Ah, yes. Let me get that for you. Glad to see you made a friend, Ruby."

"Yea." I awkwardly rubbed my arm and curled my foot around my other foot. The professor handed me a pice of paper, and said bye and that he would see me later today.

"Lemme see!" Kitty said grabbing the paper. "We have... History, English, and Physics. Yay!! Uh, I'll see you around, I gotta go, meet you back at 1st period. You have about about 15 minutes to kill before then, see ya." She said turning and waving.

"Bye!" I shouted.
