"Lunch time!" Cathy calls from the dining room. I jump off the bed and run to the door.
"Slow down Kat, jeez." Nathan murmurs. I look at him and furrow my eyebrows.
"You aren't hungry?!" I shriek. Nathan sighs and passes me out the door and into the dining room. An array of meat, cheese, bread, and vegetables line the table. I grab my food and take a seat next to Nathan again.
"Hello Kat. Nathan." Xavier smiles. I nod and give him a smile in return.
"Xavier." I smirk as he sits across from me. I feel a kick at my feet and look at Xavier who is smirking. I kick him back and his face contorts in pain. His smirk soon returns as he tugs at my foot. I glare at him and try to pull my foot away. My action results in Xavier laughing loudly gaining everyone's attention.
"Xavier, everything okay?" Cathy asks in concern. Xavier smirks at me and pulls on my foot.
"Everything is fine. Kat is just so funny!" Xavier shrieks. I glare at him across the table.
"But she didn't say anything?" Nathan asks with a frown.
"Ah, but actions speak louder than words." Xavier protests. I giggle as Xavier wears his signature smirk.
Nathan murmurs something under his breath but I don't register it though it sounded like something along the lines of what Xavier just said.
Nathan stayed quiet the remainder of dinner. I excuse myself from the table and head to my room. I sit in bed and stare at the ceiling. After a while I look at the clock next to my bed. 1:26 am.I just couldn't fall asleep. I got out of bed and trudged to the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water and drank it fast.
"Can't sleep, huh?" someone asked. My heart beat quickened and I let out an ear-splitting scream.
"Dang woman, keep it down." I flipped on a light to see Xavier smirking at me. He was clad in a pair of gym shorts, without a shirt. I took time to ogle his body before I snapped back to reality.
"You!" I yelled, my anger rippling.
"Me!" he smirked at me. I turned away from him as I put my water back in the fridge. "Are you ignoring me Kat?"
I didn't answer hoping he would get the point. "Katty!"
"What?!" I yell at him. Xavier smirks at me.
"Goodnight Kat." with that he leaned down and kissed my cheek.
