It was quite hot outside today. It is august, one of the hottest months. Ralph sighed as he pulled off his green hoodie, revealing burn marks along his arms and hands.Jerry look down at Ralph and tilted his head. "Hey Ralph? What happened here?" Jerry asked politely, pointing to his arm, not really wanting to make it sound rude and point to Ralphs face.
Ralph looked down and then looked at Jerry, not wanting to tell him the way he got the marks. He wanted to get to know him, everyone, better before he told everyone. "R-Ralph would rather not tell you. Not yet."
Jerry nodded his head. "I understand." He looked away from Ralph and behind him at everyone. "We are going to the field right?" North and Markus both said "yes" while everyone else nodded.
Ralph decided to go along with it. After a short walked they all sat down on a far end of the field , but a few of them stood up. Ralph sat down next to Jerry, looking intently on the grass.
"So uh, since ralph is new to our little group, and since he doesn't know a lot about us, maybe we should play 10 questions?" Jerry suggested.
"Yeah! That sounds fun!" Kara chimed excitedly.
Ralph looked around at everyone, then at Jerry.
"Ill start. What is everyones favorite color?" Jerry asked. "Mine is Blue"
(SO THE ORDER FOR EVERYONE IS GOING TO BE JERRY, RALPH, MARKUS, SIMON, NORTH, KARA, LUTHER, GAVIN, AND CONNOR)
Ralph smiled, "Ralph likes green."
"I like yellow."
"I like yellows aswell."
"Red is my favorite"
"I love grey."
"I like greens as well Ralph."
"Brown is the highest on my list."
"I like white."
They kept going, telling things about each other, such as how many pets they have, their favorite food, things they like to do, which Gavin answered with 'Connor', and a bunch of other things.
The bell rang, signaling it was time to go back inside and prepare to leave. Ralph stood up and walked inside with everyone, chatting to his new mom (Kara) about color tones.
They had gotten into this weird conversation about colors after the color question. In between questions they would keep talking about it, which was amusing to most of the group.
Ralph grabbed his things from his locker once he was inside, sitting in his homeroom class until the bell rang. He hummed a song, tapping his finger against the table to the beat.
The bell rang and Ralph walked out of the classroom and down the stairs and halls until he got outside and walked home. On his voyage home he saw a familiar face, or well, back. Not that Ralph had been looking at Jerry's backside or anything!
Ralph walked up to Jerry and smiled. "Hello Jerry!"
"Oh! Hey Ralph! You walk home too?" Ralph nodded, smiling like a dork. He was happy to see Jerry so he didn't have to walk home by himself.
The two talked on, Ralph telling Jerry about his Garden. He told Jerry all of the plants types and names, and how he came up with the names.
They both then found out they lived on the same street, passing by Jerry's house, but jerry insisted that he walk Ralph home. This made Ralph feel warm inside.
"Well, it was very nice meeting you today. I look forward to hanging out with you on Monday." Jerry said as they walked to his doorstep.
Ralph smiled happily. He was so thrilled he found friends that didn't judge him for the burns, and that accepted him for who he was, well, who he was that he had told everyone. There were still some things that he couldn't trust the group with yet.
Ralph then decided to wrap Jerry in a hug. "Thank you so much for letting Ralph hang out with you. Ralph has never had anyone not judge him for his marks. Let alone be Ralphs friend."
Jerry returned the hug, patting Ralphs back. "Of course Ralph." Jerry smiled happily, blushing slightly. Ralph pulled away, blushing aswell. "Uh, then... Bye Jerry!!" Ralph smiled as he unlocked his front door.
"Oh hey Ralph!"
"Hm?" Ralph turned around.
"In library, look at the paper the librarian gave to you. Anyways, bye!" Jerry smiled excitedly and walked away.
Ralph tilted his head and walked inside, pulling out the paper. He opened it to see a bunch of numbers. He then realized what it was. Jerry's phone number.
Ralph had gotten Jerry's phone number already, and he was beyond thrilled.
