Ralph walked to his room, laying down on his bed and opening his phone. Ralph entered the number into his phone, checking to make sure he got it all right. He then typed, 'Hello! It is Ralph from school.'
Ralph set down his phone, starting to worry if he put in the right number, when he heard a buzz come from his phone. He looked at it to see a reply from Jerry.
'Hey Ralph! How are you doing?'
A few seconds after that, Jerry sent another text. 'I know i just saw you basically five minutes ago but, i am trying to be polite XD'
Ralph chuckled, partially due to the fact that Jerry uses "XD" He typed back, 'Im well. How are you?'. Ralph then realized he didnt enter a name for Jerry into his phone, so he put the name in as, "Jerry Berry". It was cute, just like Jerry. His phone buzzed again.
Jerry Berry: 'Im great. Hey Ralph? Would it be okay if i put you in a group chat with me, and everyone else you met at school?'
Ralph wiggled excitedly. 'Yes! Of course.'
A few moments later he heard his phone buzz. He looked at it, seeing he had been entered to a group chat called "Jericho". Ralph wondered what Jericho was. In the group chat, Jerry explained who everyone was, and Ralph put names to all of the numbers, Kara and Luther's being 'Mom' and 'Dad'
They all talked together in the chat, about what classes they all have.
North: Yea, i have Fowler first period.
Connor: Same here
Ralph then typed, 'Me too!'
North: Thats cul!
North: Cool*
Connor: We should sit together tomorrow
(Ralph is just going to be R)
R: We should!
Mom: Do any of us have any other classes together?
Gavin: I dunno.
Connor: Lets all type our schedules and we will see who has what together.
Ralph learned he had second period with North, Connor, and Gavin. Third with North, Connor, and Markus. Third period was either Gym, Library, or your elective, depending on the day.
He had fourth period Simon, Markus, Jerry, Kara, and Luther. Fifth period with those same people and then lunch, recess, then back to first period with North and Connor.
Mom: So Ralph, North, Markus, and Connor all chose art for their lelective?
R: Yes, thats right.
Markus: Yeah.
Jerry Berry: Kara and I both have orchestra for our electives.
Gavin: And Luther, Simon and I all have band.
R: Thats cool! I have to go water my plants right now, but uh, ill be back i guess?
Jerry Berry: Okay!
Mom: Alright!
Dad: Okay
Ralph set down his phone, jumping up and down before heading out to his garden. He filled up the watering can with water and walked over to his succulents which were sitting on a table in the sun near the left corner of the fence that distinguished his yard from the others.
The backyard was small, about the size of a small walk in closet. He walked over to his two trees that were planted in the ground in the far center of the yard and watered them. He then moved on to his other plants which were hanging on the very small porch-rooftop thing.
Ralph put away the watering can after watering all of the plants, and walked inside, seeing his dad sitting on the couch. Ralph smiled and sat next to his dad.
"Oh, hey Ralph. How was your first day of school?" His dad asked tiredly. Ralph could tell he was very tired from working, but he couldn't blame him. He had to work hard to keep this house and pay for everything. Ralph often tried to help him the most he could.
"It was good. Ralph met new people today."
"Oh? Tell me about them." Ralphs dad raised a brow, looking at Ralph.
Ralph started to tell his dad about everyone, the game they played at recess and that he walked home with one of his friends.
"You should bring them over sometime. They sound like a fun bunch."
Ralph tilted his head. "Dad but thats 8 people-"
His dad waved a hand. "Yeah, i know, but you need to have your fun. You're welcome to go to any of their houses and they are always welcome into ours."
Ralph hugged his dad. "Thanks!" His dad stood up and walked over to the kitchen, motioning for Ralph to follow him.
"Can you help me make dinner?" He asked. Ralph nodded, and helped out. They eventually finished, eating their dinner then cleaning up. Ralph's dad sat down on the couch and Ralph ran upstairs to his phone, seeing a bunch of messages from the group chat. They all were talking about how they should meet up this weekend, since it was only Friday.
North: So, where should we all meet up on Saturday?
Mom: How about the park? Or maybe someones house, and we could have a sleepover! We could do it at mine!
Jerry Berry: That sounds like a great idea! What time would you want us over?
Mom: Around 12ish.
R: Okay! Sounds good!
Mom: We could all sleep in the basement. If we all brought sleeping bags or blow up mattresses.
North, Connor, and Markus all said how they could bring blow up mattresses, Connor's and Markus's fitting two people. Kara then said that she had two others that could fit two people.
Dad: That should be good for all of us.
Mom: Cool! I cant wait! Oh uh, heres my address!
Kara typed in her address and Ralph saved it onto his phone.
Mom: Alright! My house 12! Connor, North, and Markus, dont forget mattresses! Everyone bring sleeping clothes and a change of clothes for the morning. Ill provide snacks and things.
Gavin: Alright!
Connor: Ill remember!!
They all continued texting until Simon said he was going to sleep. Everyone else agreed they were going to sleep as well. Jerry was the last person to say goodnight, then Ralph.
Ralph ran to the couch and hugged his dad, kissing him on the cheek goodnight. Ralph then went back to his room and got everything ready for school.
He set his phone on the dresser and turned over on his side, closing his eyes and dreaming about what the sleepover would be like.
