CHAPTER 1
"Jeongguk. Change yourself."
A dominant well-known Alpha that owned the highest rank position who sat quietly in a leather swivel chair turned his gaze into the person looking at him. Two orbs change its color in a pinch of bloody red that whiff of conflict.
He can't take the statements appearing from His Father's mouth.
No one dares to instruct him in what to do, particularly when he is already a grown-up man.
Enormous frame, tone abs, and deep dark eyes digging to your souls.
Jeongguk doesn't like the impression of him, being a twenty-five-year-old CEO of his own company receiving nothing but growls from his father. "Stop acting like I am sort of a youngster, Father," Jeongguk speaks, humbly calming himself a bit. The last thing that crossed in his mind speaks against him.
"Well, you're acting like one." Jeongguk didn't wince but his red bloody eyes sharpened more. "You know that you need to marry soon, so you need to marry Rosie." His Father added, voiced octave into the room.
The alpha sucks a deep gust, eyes shutting from discomfort as he kneads his temple deliberately.
The tension, he loathes it.
He doesn't like the belief of having a mate and resolves early.
True love?
It never exists.
He grew up seeing his Parents ignoring like they do not know each other.
Like a type of a stranger.
As if they're just residing in the exact house owing to they had a child to be taken care of.
But the affection?
It's not there.
It is fully empty and lonely.
True love is some sort of fiction, you will desire for it, you will yearn for it. But you'll never clasp it in your own hands and grasp it tightly.
True love? It's misery.
The misery that you will never ever be woke.
A misery that you will never ever be wanted to escape from.
"Father, I don't like to marry-" The slapping sounds resonate inside the office. His cheeks swollen a bit, it's not painful.
The more painful one is that your family hurts you with their own words.
"Rubbish. Mouth full of nothing but rubbish. Never in my life, I've imagined raising a coward like you." Jeongguk's eyes started to moistened from his own tears. "You are just like an Omega. Filthy, disgusting, weak." The old man stands to stare at him with disgust.
"Remember this you fucking weak of an Alpha. You will marry Rosie, whether you like it or not and that is final." The raven looks away seeing his father tear their gazed and continue his goodbye. "You sickened me."
The room was filled with silence, it's not peaceful at all. Silence is Jeongguk's first enemy.
"Mate is the only phantasm, only exists in a person's mind."
"- Jeongguk."
"Mr. Jeon Jeongguk?" The raven looks in front of him, seeing his Secretary who's sighing, deeply. "You okay, bro? We can cut your schedule today so that you can rest."
"Lisa, I'm your boss." Jeongguk deadpanned to his secretary who scrunched her face from annoyance. "Don't call me bro as if we are some kind of friend." The Alpha added.
"Eerrrr, you're my boss but I was the one who organizes your schedules. You can't live without me." The Alpha was about to say something but a mouthful smirks already there. "Now, wanna go home or not."
"Just- just get out. Your face annoys me." Lisa threw the folder above his boss tables leaving Jeongguk's mouth hanging. "You! I will- I will fire you!" Jeongguk screamed on top of his lungs, but his Secretary rolled her eyes.
"Lol, whatever." The last thing he heard before the door closed with a loud banging sound.
He wipes his face using both calloused hands, feeling the rough against his skin. He is beyond frustrated at that moment.
Everything feels so overwhelming, felt so odd. "Maybe I really need some rest now?" He murmurs to himself as He grabs his luxurious coat. "Lisa?!" He yelled, but no one came.
He steps shortly outside, glimpsing his secretary outside the marketing department winking at the girls. "Lisa Manoban." He roared. "Come here in this instance."
Female employees left Lisa. Simply because they are all scared to CEO, Which is Jeon Jeongguk, and his very own wrath. "Wow! So demanding." Lisa said, shaking her head.
"You will be the death of me, I swear." The last thing he said as he slaps his forehead.
Beep.
Concentrating on driving seems tough, in particular. If you are thinking deep.
Is he really that cold-hearted of a person? He asks himself.
Cold-hearted that doesn't like a mate? Who is he fooling now?
No one.
Jeongguk made up his mind from the beginning, everything in this world revolves in him.
Mateㅡ wasn't one of them.
Hopeless romantic type of person doesn't please him.
He despises everything.
Beep.
His focused shear apart, thoughts flying around like nothing, He took his phone inside the pocket of his slacks, checking his unattended message.
Mother.
Eyes scrunching, as he bites his lips looking from the inbox, but not tearing his eyes in front, eyeing the road. At first, he's reluctant to read those, believing that he's Mother would say something unapproved like his own Father.
But he laughs when he comprehends that his Mother would never send, an irrational statement to hurt him.
I miss you, son.
"Who said no one loves me." He murmured, shutting off his device phone. "Mother is all that I need." He added, putting away his phone above the passenger seat.
